On or about June 28th, 2026, at approximately 2300 hours, I Deputy Bussey, Badge # 2943 was assigned to Patrol. I was dispatched to [500 BLOCK] Hanson St in reference to Criminal Damage to Property/ Hit and Run/Aggravated Assault/ DUI- Less Safe.
When I arrived on scene there were several people standing on the street. Starting at [500 BLOCK] Hanson Street. I was directed down to [500 BLOCK] Hanson St. where the suspect Dexter Lockett Sr lived. I radioed dispatch to send an additional Deputy to make contact at the house. There were multiple witnesses who saw Mr. Lockett go into the house. I went to the door and knocked. I heard a male yelling while sitting behind a window in the house. I gave the male instructions to open the door which he did not comply with. A female came to the door and said “Here he go” I told Mr. Lockett to come out of the house, he declined. I entered the house and handcuffed Mr. Lockett while I investigated. Shortly after Deputy Daniels arrived.
I went to [500 BLOCK] Hanson St where a red Ford Mustang was lodged into the front gate with all the airbags deployed. There I spoke with [VICTIM #1], the homeowner. She stated that Mister Lockett drove into her fence and drove over her mailbox. [VICTIM #1] stated that her and Mr. Lockett had previously gone through other court proceedings and protective orders were in place, that was not confirmed or denied. While I was speaking with [VICTIM #1] Dexter Lockett Junior, the son of Mr. Lockett sped down the street beside me at a speed which I visually estimated to be more than 30 mph and barely missed me. [VICTIM #1] confirmed that Mr. Lockett and his son drive down the street in this manner all the time. Dexter Lockett Junior received a citation for speeding.
Next, I went to [500 BLOCK] Hanson St where people were standing outside. Other neighbors informed me that the mailbox was destroyed. The homeowner was not outside, and a case card was placed in her front door for further reference.
Then I spoke with the crowd located at [500 BLOCK] Hanson St in the front of the house was a red four door sedan parked. The vehicle had damaged from the rear driver side all the way to the front of a car near the front bumper. The front door to the driver’s side was no longer attached to the vehicle. [VICTIM #2] was the owner of the vehicle. He stated he was sitting inside when Mr. Lockett hit the vehicle and now had pain in his arm. [VICTIM #3] and [VICTIM #4] were also inside of the vehicle at the time when it was hit by Mr. Lockett’s car. [VICTIM #2] saw Atrium staff on scene and was then taken to the hospital. [VICTIM #3] declined medical attention and [VICTIM #4] stated that he would visit the hospital later.
Deputy Daniels reported the neighbors at [500 BLOCK] Hanson st stated that their mailbox was damaged as well. The homeowner there was [VICTIM #5]. He also had a witness statement from a [WITNESS #1] stating that Mr. Lockett came driving down the left side of the road and then moved to the right and hit each person’s property, coming down. [WITNESS #1] stated he then got out of the car and went into the house and then he came back out and a verbal altercation happened.
Lester’s Towing came and removed [VICTIM #2]’s vehicle and Mr. Lockett’s vehicle. The tow sheets were completed by Deputy Daniels. Mr. Lockett Sr. refused medical attention on scene and was driven to Atrium to be examined in my patrol car. During this time while we were still on scene Mr. Lockett was read his Miranda rights and implied consent in the back seat of my patrol car. Mr. Lockett continued to make statements about how he was drinking and driving into others property while going down the road. When we got to the hospital, he continued making statements and how he was drinking and driving.
While at the hospital I read Mr. Lockett implied consent from my green card again to conduct a blood test. Mr. Lockett refused the blood test. Once Mr. Lockett senior was cleared at the hospital, he was transported to Bibb County law enforcement center where he was booked for charges including Hit and Run, DUI-less safe, Criminal Damage to Property and Aggravated assault. Mr. Lockett’s driver’s license was removed, and documentation was turned into the patrol office. Copies of his citations and a temporary driving permit were given to jail staff to place in his property. All parties who were at the scene received the case card for further reference.
Additionally, on 6/29/2026 at approximately 8:00 hours dispatch received information from [WITNESS #1]. He stated that his trash can was driven over by Mr. Lockett and his black Tesla had marks from where debris flew up and hit his vehicle including a dent and scratches. He was given a case card, and I communicated with him via cellular device and gave him the information he needed for further reference.
