On November 6, 2025, at approximately 1355 hours, I, Cpl. F. Gray, along with Lt. Washington, was dispatched to 4961 Romeiser Drive (Sunoco) in reference to robbery. While en route the anonymous caller stated a male subject had walked over to Burger King while he was on break and reported that he had been robbed, and asked him to call 911. A second call was also received regarding the same incident.

Upon arrival, I made contact with the subject, identified as Mr. Durante Smith. Mr. Smith stated he was robbed by two males who took his money and further advised that he receives a Social Security check. He stated that one of the males involved was at the Travelodge, a property from which he had been previously banned on November 6, 2025.

When I asked Mr. Smith if the incident occurred today, he stated it happened “the other day.” I recalled dealing with Mr. Smith on November 4, 2025, under case number 2025-97596, along with Cpl. Raines, at 6000 Harrison Road (Bridgeview Hotel). During that incident, Mr. Smith reported that he had been robbed after giving two to three males $400 in exchange for a hotel room and then wanted his money back. The incident was determined to be a civil dispute.

Additionally, on November 5, 2025, Mr. Smith made contact with Cpl. J. Williams in reference to case number 2025-97780 after Bridgeview Hotel staff reported him for trespassing. Mr. Smith again claimed he purchased a room from two males and wanted his money back but later admitted to exchanging his money for drugs.

Based on these repeated and inconsistent reports, it was determined that Mr. Smith knowingly made a false report of a crime. Mr. Smith was taken into custody without incident for False Report of a Crime.

While en route to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, Mr. Smith stated he would “keep calling because no one believes me” and again admitted that he exchanged his money for drugs.
