On 9-3-25, I, Sgt Jones, responded to 3391 Mercer University Dr. (Circle K) in reference to a disorderly subject.

Upon my arrival, contact was made with [VICTIM #1]. Ms [VICTIM #1] stated that while she was working, a black male subject came into the store to use the ATM. She stated that the male got upset because he could not withdraw money from his account. She stated that the male told her, “You might as well call the police,” and he picked up a metal pole. [VICTIM #1] said that the male subject then took the pole and stuck the ATM, causing damage to the screen. [VICTIM #1] stated that she told the male to leave the store, but he refused. She said she pulled out her Apple iPhone to call 911, and the male approached her. After her call, the male then took her phone and exited the store. [VICTIM #1] stated that she chased the male to get her phone back, but the male turned around and struck her in the head with the metal pole.

I was able to make contact with the male in the parking lot of 3337 Mercer University Dr (Farmer’s Furniture). He was detained and identified as Elonza Collins, [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. The metal pole was also discovered in the parking lot.

[VICTIM #1] positively identified Collins as the suspect and stated that he still had her cellphone in his possession. The phone was found in a yard near Circle K. I collected the pole and placed it in the crime lab as evidence. Collins was transported to the Bibb County LEC.
