On 02/13/2026, Dep. Tre. Lewis responded to [3300 BLOCK] Tamplin Terrace in reference to a possible domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, I made contact with [REDACTED BY AGENCY], who had visible bruising and deep red marks around his neck. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that his father, Hector Pop Caal, had been drinking while they were together in a bedroom. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that his father began acting aggressively without provocation and started discussing past life experiences that had caused him emotional trauma.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that his father then suddenly grabbed him by the neck, choked him, and held him down on the bed. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that he break free and run out of the bedroom and the residence to escape.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] cousin, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], who is 14 years old, stated that he heard a noise coming from his bedroom, exited to see what was happening, and observed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] immediately after the incident. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then contacted the Sheriff’s Office.

While speaking with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] I noticed he seemed timid and fearful. When asked about his father’s location. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Hector was lying in the bedroom, asleep. An assisting deputy and I approached the bedroom to make contact with Hector. Before entering the room, I could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the bedroom.

Upon making contact with Hector Pop Caal, He could not give a clear or coherent statement, not only because he was under the influence but also because he cannot speak any English. We instructed him to place his hands behind his back. Hector initially attempted to resist but ultimately complied. He was taken into custody without further incident

Due to the age of the victim and the nature of the injuries, this report will be forwarded to the Crimes Against Children Unit for further investigation.
