ITALIO DERRICO JONES ARRESTED AND CHARGED IN BIBB COUNTY
What this means: Italio Derrico Jones was arrested and booked in Bibb County on March 25, 2026, facing charges of Theft by Taking (a felony) and Aggravated Battery under case number 2026-MCR-006595 in Bibb County Superior Court. DEFENSE FILES MOTION TO SET BOND FOR ITALIO DERRICO JONES
What this means: Attorney Savannah Griffin filed a formal written request asking the Bibb County Superior Court to set a reasonable bond for Italio Derrico Jones in case number 2026-MCR-006595. The motion noted that Italio Derrico Jones had been held in jail since his March 25, 2026 arrest, that no grand jury had yet considered the charges against him, and that he maintains his innocence. The defense argued that a bond would allow him to adequately prepare for trial while ensuring he appears at all future court dates. The motion also asked that his right to a Preliminary Hearing — a hearing where a judge reviews whether there is enough evidence to hold someone — be preserved. A copy was hand-delivered to the District Attorney’s office.

The court found that the evidence showed Italio Derrico Jones had been incarcerated since March 25, 2026, and determined by a preponderance of the evidence — meaning it was more likely than not — that he poses a significant threat of harm to another person, to the community, or to any property in the community.
