On 8/24/2025 at approximately 0129 hours, I, Corporal Jonah Gordon 2748, responded to [1400 BLOCK] Gray Highway apartment [REDACTED] in reference to a domestic disturbance. I arrived on scene and observed a female, later identified as [VICTIM #1], laying on the ground in front of the apartment door. Another female, later identified as [WITNESS #1], was standing by her trying to sit her up. [VICTIM #1] was covered in blood and there was blood on the wall from her. [VICTIM #1] had blood down her chest area and the back of her head. I also observed blood on top of her head. [VICTIM #1] was also heavily intoxicated. I called for EMS to respond to the location.

I asked [VICTIM #1] what happened and she stated that her brother, later identified as James Golden, beat her up. She could not provide any details as to how James did it, possibly due to intoxication or a head injury. [VICTIM #1] stated she did wish to press charges on the matter. [VICTIM #1] stated [WITNESS #1] was present when it happened, but she would not tell me what happened and wanted no involvement in the matter. I did overhear [WITNESS #1] tell [VICTIM #1] “he shouldn’t have done this to you”. [VICTIM #1] also repeatedly showed me and told me she had a cut on the inside of her upper lip.

I knocked on the apartment multiple times to attempt to speak to James. [VICTIM #1] stated that James was still inside the apartment. There was no answer at the door. [VICTIM #1] stated James lives there but she does not.

While standing by for EMS, [WITNESS #1] kept trying to convince [VICTIM #1] to leave with her and not go to the hospital. [VICTIM #1] later informed me that [WITNESS #1] has a romantic relationship with James.

Some time later, EMS responded to the scene. [VICTIM #1] was walked to the ambulance and EMS examined [VICTIM #1]. They informed me that [VICTIM #1] has a deep laceration on top of her head that goes to her skull and she will need staples at the hospital.

[VICTIM #1] was concerned that her keys and purse were still inside James’ apartment. I later told [WITNESS #1] I knew that James would not answer the door while I was on scene and to get [VICTIM #1] her items back.

A warrant for the arrest for James will be sworn for the charge of aggravated assault. It is unknown if James used his hands or an object to injure [VICTIM #1] at this time, which will be detailed in the warrant.
