On September 26th, 2025, this officer was dispatched to a fight in progress at the Texaco gas station located at 15 Spring St. Macon, GA. Upon approaching the glass entry door, I could see that there was merchandise on the floor, and the floor had a substantial amount of blood. I could see thru the glass door a white male subject that was bleeding from his face that was standing by the counter where customers go to pay for items. EMS was requested but none were available at the time.

I entered the store and asked where the second suspect was. I was informed by the gas station attendant that he had fled the scene after the altercation, but that they had recorded his vehicle’s license plate, but had fled in a gray color Honda.

I spoke with the attendant, [VICTIM #1], DOB [REDACTED BY AGENCY], [VICTIM #1] stated that a Black male suspect, 5’10”, 150lb had entered the store and picked up two soft drinks and after hiding one of the drinks inside his pants had approached the counter to pay for the other drink that he had in hand. [VICTIM #1] said that when he charged the suspect for both drinks, the suspect questioned where the other drink was and stated that he only had the one. [VICTIM #1] stated that he then came around the counter to speak with the suspect and to point out where he had seen him put the drink inside of his pants when the suspect became irate and pushed him away. [VICTIM #1] said that he kept trying to speak with the suspect and point to the drink hidden, but the suspect kept pushing him away. When [VICTIM #1] confronted the suspect about the fact that he was trying to pay for only one drink, the suspect swung and him and they went to blows. [VICTIM #1] stated that the suspect hit him in the face and broke his nose.

This officer could see that [VICTIM #1] was still bleeding from his broken nose, as he kept attempting to apply pressure to stop the bleeding.

This officer was able to obtain video from inside the gas station. In the video a Black male suspect is seen enter the store and walk to the back isle, when the suspect is seen walking toward the counter, he places a plastic soft drink bottle inside his pants and approach the counter with only one in hand. The station attendant is seen coming around to interact with the suspect when the suspect pushes him away by using his left arm. When the attendant approaches again, the suspect is seen pushing him away again by using his left arm. The suspect is seen on video to the the first person in the altercation to throw a punch with his right arm toward the attendant and a fight between the two takes place.

This officer, along with Deputy Mobly and deputy P. Smith responded to the address on record for the license place that had been obtained by the victim and made contact with the suspect. Suspect was identified by the use of the video as James Jereal Watson, DOB [REDACTED BY AGENCY], of Macon. Mr. Watson was placed under arrest and booked in to the Bibb County Jail with the charges listed on this report.
