On March 11, 2026, I responded to 1286 Anthony Road regarding a possible hit-and-run accident.
Upon arrival, I contacted [VICTIM #1], who stated he was operating a 2018 Tesla Model 3 (bearing tag [REDACTED], VIN [REDACTED]). Mr. [VICTIM #1] advised that he was traveling eastbound on Pio Nono Avenue after exiting the Island Pot restaurant when his vehicle was struck by a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox (no tag displayed, VIN [REDACTED]). The Equinox was also attempting to enter the eastbound lane of Pio Nono Avenue when the collision occurred. The driver of the Equinox fled the scene without stopping.
I then contacted a witness, [WITNESS #1], who stated she observed the Equinox strike Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s vehicle and then flee the scene without stopping for law enforcement. Ms. [WITNESS #1] further stated that she followed the suspect vehicle and observed it park at [1200 BLOCK] Lake Valley Drive in Macon, Georgia.
After speaking with both Mr. [VICTIM #1] and Ms. [WITNESS #1], I requested Ms. [WITNESS #1] to lead me to the vehicle’s location. I followed her in my patrol unit to Lake Valley Drive, where I observed a vehicle matching the description of the Equinox previously provided. Mr. [VICTIM #1] also provided video footage from his Tesla’s built-in surveillance system, which showed the Equinox striking his vehicle and fleeing the scene from multiple angles.
Upon locating the vehicle, I contacted the driver, identified as John Emore. Mr. Emore stated he was scared and admitted to leaving the scene after the collision. A check through NCIC revealed that Mr. Emore was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Additionally, the vehicle had a suspended registration and no valid insurance.
Mr. Emore was placed under arrest and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center for the listed offenses.
