On Sunday, January 11th, 2026 at approximately 1636 hours, I (Corporal M. Ha #2107) responded to 3855 Broadway (Texaco Fast Fuel) in reference to a car jacking that occurred recently.

Upon my arrival, I spoke with the victim [VICTIM #1] who advised that he was car jacked from somewhere over in Peach Orchard. He advised that it was the second street down from San Carlos Drive (possibly Marion Avenue area). [VICTIM #1] was beaten in the face severely and had blood clots already forming around the right eye region. I requested EMS to come treat [VICTIM #1]’s injuries.

[VICTIM #1] advised that he was at his hotel located at Travel Lodge on Romeiser Drive. While he was getting into his 2011 Red in color Honda CRZ, an acquaintance by the nickname of “DeeDee” had requested a ride from him. “DeeDee” was described as a shorter thin black male possible in his late 40s. When the subject got into the vehicle, he brandished a black in color handgun and point at him and instructed him to drive to another hotel. [VICTIM #1] advised that he reluctantly drove “DeeDee” subject to another hotel where the suspect and another subject just talked to each other for a brief moment.

[VICTIM #1] advised that “DeeDee” had told him to drive towards Peach Orchard area. [VICTIM #1] stated that instead of a home there was a trailer in place of a residential home. When they arrived at the location, [VICTIM #1] stated that about another four or five other subject came out and beat him up. He stated that a white female subject by the name of Alicia Youngblood had taken his vehicle keys and kicked him on the head several times. Another male subject later identified as Joshua Amerson had gotten in the driver’s seat and Youngblood got in the passenger side.

[VICTIM #1] stated that Amerson and Youngblood took off in his vehicle. [VICTIM #1] advised that he does not know the tag of the vehicle, however, he stated that the vehicle was still registered under the old owner’s name [REDACTED]. [VICTIM #1] advised that it had a possible tag start of TFK. Deputies searched the flock camera and found the victim’s vehicle (2011 Honda CRZ with tag display of [REDACTED]). Deputies searched the flock and the areas the vehicle had confirmed hits.

Atrium EMS arrived at the gas station and was treating [VICTIM #1]’s injuries. While EMS was tending to his injuries, I was attempting to search the flock cameras for the vehicle. The vehicle eventually made its way back to Broadway and Mead Road (where I was at with the victim). I notified the units that the vehicle had came through the area was last spotted on Antioch Road. I attempted to chase the vehicle, however, the vehicle was traveling too fast and could not locate the vehicle. A short while later, Sergeant T. Jones was able to locate the vehicle and vehicle pursuit ensued.

While Sergeant Jones was chasing the vehicle, the pursuit terminated after Amerson crashed the vehicle near Houston Avenue and Broadway. Sergeant Jones advised that there were two occupants of the stolen vehicle. He advised that the male subject (later identified as Joshua Amerson) had taken flight on foot towards the round a bout. He pursued the male driver. He advised that the female passenger took flight on foot towards Guy Paine Road on Broadway. We were unable to locate the female suspect (later identified as Youngblood).

Sergeant Jones was able to apprehend Amerson and Sergeant M. Dorough along with his recruit (Deputy N. Holmes) arrived to assist with the apprehension. Amerson had complaints of shortness of breath and tightness in his chest. Due to the crashing of the vehicle Atrium EMS was requested to be on scene. Sergeant Jones came back to the vehicle and M and M Towing was called out to the scene and tow the vehicle.

I had dispatch contact person’s investigator and Lieutenant S. Bridger called. He advised to have the suspect (Amerson) followed every where he went until he gets to the hospital. He also advised to place a hold on the vehicle. M and M towing was advised to place a hold and Sergeant Jones did the tow sheet. Deputy Holmes went with Amerson in the ambulance to the hospital.

I made contact with [VICTIM #1] in EC Room 03. [VICTIM #1] was getting treated for his injuries and was advised the investigator will come to the hospital as soon as he could. I left [VICTIM #1] in the room and was able to make contact with Deputy Holmes and Amerson who was at the hallway near the ambulance bay. Investigator Bridger arrived on scene and took over the case. Deputy T. Lewis came on scene and he relieved Deputy Holmes and me. [VICTIM #1] was provided with the victim’s case brochure.
