**Summary:**
On November 29, 2024, I, Investigator K. Hester, responded to [300 BLOCK] Plantation Way, Apartment [REDACTED], in reference to an animal cruelty complaint. Animal Control Officer (ACO) Mitchell informed me that the apartment manager, [WITNESS #1], had reported a dog inside a crate with no food or water, appearing emaciated and unable to use its back legs.

I drafted a search warrant to inspect the animal, which was reviewed and issued by Judge Jones. Once the warrant was obtained, I requested the apartment manager to open the door to Apartment [REDACTED]. After clearing the apartment for safety, I observed the dog inside an undersized crate.

**Findings:**
Upon inspection, the dog appeared severely emaciated, with ribs and skeletal bones visible due to malnutrition. I estimated its body condition to be a 1 out of 9 on the Purina body condition scale. The crate contained feces, and the animal had no access to food or water. I removed the dog from the crate, and it immediately favored both hind legs, which could not fully extend. The animal used its front legs to urinate outside, indicating significant mobility issues.

The dog showed signs of severe muscle atrophy in the hind legs, likely caused by prolonged confinement in the crate. Two empty, clean bowls and an automatic feeder were located outside the crate, but there was no dog food inside the apartment. In the kitchen, I observed canine supplements and treat packets, but no actual dog food.

ACO Mitchell, Cpl. Smith, and I transported the animal to Bibb County Animal Services (BCAS) for intake. Due to the urgent need for medical attention, Cpl. Smith immediately transported the dog to Bondable Pups for rehabilitation and continuous care.

**Owner Contact:**
I contacted the dog’s owner, Kedaruis Bridges, by phone. I informed him that a search warrant had been executed and his dog had been impounded. When I asked if he knew why, he acknowledged that the dog was “skinny” and “not doing well.” He explained that, due to his schedule, he was unable to feed the dog every day and, when he did, he provided one to two small packs of Cesar-brand wet food.

I contacted Hudspeth Animal Hospital, which confirmed that the dog had only been seen once, on June 25, 2024, for a rabies vaccination. Mr. Bridges claimed he could not afford to provide proper care for the dog. When I inquired about how he could afford expensive shoes and clothing, he responded that his mother had purchased the shoes for him. I informed him of the cost of care and advised that my manager, [REDACTED], would contact him to discuss the financial details.

**Follow-up Examination (December 2, 2024):**
On December 2, 2024, I conducted a follow-up examination of the dog at Bondable Pups. While the animal continued to show signs of malnutrition, she had begun to show improvement after just a few days on a proper diet. The dog’s weight increased from 13 pounds at intake to 15 pounds. However, she was still experiencing difficulty using her hind legs, which showed signs of atrophy due to prolonged confinement.

Despite a recent bath, the dog’s coat remained soiled with urine, and there were signs of urine scalding on her paws. Due to the severe malnutrition, muscle atrophy, and neglect, I am recommending that an arrest warrant for Aggravated Animal Cruelty be issued for Kedaruis Bridges based on the circumstances of this case.

**Conclusion:**
The dog remains in care at Bondable Pups, where she is receiving the necessary rehabilitation and treatment. The investigation into Kedaruis Bridges’ actions is ongoing, and I will proceed with obtaining an arrest warrant for Bridges.

KEDARIUS BRIDGES INDICTED

What this means: Kedarius Bridges was formally indicted by a grand jury in Bibb County Superior Court on charges related to aggravated cruelty to animals. An indictment means a grand jury reviewed evidence and determined there is probable cause to believe Bridges committed the alleged crimes. This moves the case from the accusation phase to formal prosecution, and Bridges will now face trial on these charges unless he enters a plea agreement.
