On June 25, 2025, at approximately 2038 hours, I, Deputy F. Gray, was dispatched to [3400 BLOCK] Houston Ave, where the complainant requested to meet me at [900 BLOCK] Quinlan Drive, the suspect’s mother’s house.

Upon arrival, I met with the complainant, Ms. [VICTIM #1], and advised her to meet me at the District 2 Sheriff’s Office and observed blood on her clothing. During our meeting, Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that while she was leaving Shiv Food Mart at 3472 Houston Ave, Keyta Brown who is her children’s father/ ex-boyfriend yelled, “Oh, b*tch,” at her. She reported that he then hopped into her vehicle. As she began to drive away, he started controlling the wheel and steering the car, causing her to swerve into Pendleton Homes. There, he forcibly put the car in park, snatched her keys from the ignition, and threw them along with her iPhone 13, which he broke.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] described that once they were out of the vehicle, he pushed her, put both hands around her neck, and began choking her to the ground, causing her to struggle for breath. She indicated that he eventually let go and started punching her, spitting on her, and dragging her across the grass, resulting in a laceration on her left forearm and a small laceration on her chin, which was still bleeding. After this assault, she grabbed a stick and chased him, after which he ran away, and she called the police. Ms. [VICTIM #1] declined emergency medical services.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] also mentioned that they have three children together: [REDACTED BY AGENCY], [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. She further stated that there is a restraining order against him from a previous domestic incident in March 2025 when he assaulted her. I checked the jail file and found that he had a court order prohibiting any contact with Ms. [VICTIM #1], issued by Judge Jones on March 12, 2025, when he was released on bond.

Warrants will be sought in this case.
