On April 3, 3036, at 0056 I Deputy Crane and Deputy Odle were dispatched to [1900 BLOCK] Fletcher St about a call about an unknown trouble at home.
Upon arrival, we met with the father of the victim, Mr. [WITNESS #1]. He stated that his daughter was in the home, and he showed messages between him and her, where she stated that he needed to come and bring the police because she was pistol-whipped by her boyfriend.
The victim, Ms. [VICTIM #1], had come out the door after several attempts by deputies knocking. Ms. [VICTIM #1] had received a call from her father and she was told to come outside, so she stated she came up with a reason to come outside to speak to the deputies on scene.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that she was in the home, and the suspect, Mr. Khalil Harris, had come into the home after leaving his mother’s home, and she believed he had a few drinks. She stated that they had a verbal dispute about the cameras in the home not being on. Mr. Harris hit her on the head with an open hand and then continued to make contact with Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s head with his gun that he had in his hand when he entered the home. I observed Ms. [VICTIM #1] and saw a knot on the side of her head from the incident.
I asked Ms. [VICTIM #1] to call Mr. Harris. Once I made contact with Mr. Harris, I stated that he needs to come out of the home. Mr. Harris complied and was searched and taken into custody.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that she is the homeowner, but Mr. Harris does stay with her. We asked Ms. [VICTIM #1] if we were allowed into the home to recover the gun that she was assaulted with, and she consented. The gun was collected and stored as evidence.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] showed deputies footage of the incident that contains audio of the assault, and you could hear the dispute, and then Ms. [VICTIM #1] shouting when the gun made contact with her head. The gun used was a Taurus G3C with Serial #AEE429651.
Mr. Harris was made aware that he was placed under arrest and was transported to The Bibb County LEC without incident.
