On Thursday, November 13, 2025, I, Sgt. Christopher Collis responded to [1200 BLOCK] Mimosa Dr regarding a domestic incident involving [VICTIM #1] and her live-in boyfriend of two years, Malik Adams. Ms. [VICTIM #1] contacted the Bibb County E911 Center hysterically requesting help because her boyfriend (Adams) fired four shots from a pistol during an argument, and one of the bullets struck the driver’s side rear bumper area of her black 2023 Chevrolet Malibu bearing GA tag [REDACTED].
At the time of the shooting, Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s 2-year-old child, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], was sitting in the back seat on the passenger side. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stayed on the phone with the 911 Operator and provided updated information to responding units. When I arrived on scene, Ms. [VICTIM #1] exited her vehicle and ran towards my patrol car. Ms. [VICTIM #1] was screaming and crying over what had just occurred.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that Adams was still in the house, so I ran to the door and knocked. Because Ms. [VICTIM #1] told the E911 Operator and me that Adams had a gun, I stepped back after knocking and drew my service weapon. Adams answered the door unarmed, so I holstered my pistol and began speaking to him about the incident. Adam allowed me entry into his home, and I followed him to his bedroom.
I noticed that Adams had a bloody wound over his left eyebrow and some additional minor bloody wounds on the back of his neck. The first thing Adams told me was that the relationship between him and Ms. [VICTIM #1] is very toxic. Adams stated that he got into an argument this morning after Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s mother dropped off her son [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Adams said that during the argument, Ms. [VICTIM #1] grew increasingly aggressive towards him and shoved her finger in his face. Adams stated that is how he got the wound over his left eye.
Adams said that even after pleading with Ms. [VICTIM #1] to get out of his face, she continued coming forward, so he pushed her away. Adams stated that he never did anything else to her and never had a gun. Adams initially permitted deputies to search his residence, but later rescinded it. Deputies did not search his home. After speaking with Adams, I went outside and talked with Ms. [VICTIM #1].
Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that the argument started when her mother dropped [REDACTED BY AGENCY] off at the house. Ms. [VICTIM #1] said that Adams treats her son differently from how he treats his own kids. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that they got into an argument and she tried to leave, but Adams took her car keys. Ms. [VICTIM #1] tried bringing them back, but things got physical.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that Adams grabbed her around the neck, so she started hitting him—at one point, Adams bit Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s right thumb. Ms. [VICTIM #1] left Adams and the house. Ms. [VICTIM #1] put her son in her car and called her mother. Ms. [VICTIM #1] said that Adams came out of the house and fired into the ground, then at her vehicle, striking the driver’s side rear bumper with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in the car.
While on scene, I did collect one 40 caliber S&W shell casing in the vicinity of the incident. I could not find any other shell casings during my search. I confirmed that our monitoring system captured four shots just after 8:00 at that location. With Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s testimony, the injuries on her thumb, and the shell casing, I took Adams into custody.
I charged Adams with aggravated assault, criminal trespass, damage to property (FV), and battery (FV). I transported him to the Bibb County LEC and turned him over to jail personnel without incident. I placed the shell casing into the Bibb County Crime Lab as evidence in the case. I did not find a handgun related to the crime.
Before leaving, I gave Ms. [VICTIM #1] a case card with a case number attached for her records. I gave Ms. [VICTIM #1] additional contact information for resources dealing with domestic violence. Ms. [VICTIM #1] asked more than once whether she could drop the charges against Adams. I explained to her that the charges would stand.
