On December 23, 2025, I (Deputy D. Stokes) and Deputy M. Gibson were dispatched to the Economy Hotel at 4295 Pio Nono Ave., Macon, GA in reference to a person shot.
Once on scene, several deputies and EMS were already on scene with the victim later identified as [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] was laying on the pavement on the passenger side of a silver Nissan Altima. The Nissan had several bullet holes in the front passenger door. There was also a purple handled pistol on top of the car. EMS was conducting chest compressions on [VICTIM #1] and he was unresponsive.
An anonymous witness at the business next to the hotel stated he saw a stocky male running from the Altima towards the back of the hotel and several people were shooting at him. The witness stated it sounded like an automatic weapon or a firearm with a “switch.” According to the witness, the stocky male got in a blue older model Honda Civic being driven by a female and the Civic left the scene.
I was notified by another deputy that the Nissan was owned by a female that was on scene. I spoke to the female who identified herself as [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated she didn’t witness what occurred, but she had loaned her Nissan to her “baby daddy”, [VICTIM #2]. She believes [VICTIM #2] was in the vehicle with someone she knew as “[REDACTED].”
[WITNESS #1] stated she had learned that [VICTIM #2]’ sister, “[REDACTED]” was at the hotel meeting with someone and got into an argument with “some boys.” She also stated that [REDACTED]’s 4-year-old child was also in the Civic, which she believes was being shot at along with the Nissan.
CID and the crime lab were contacted and I spoke with Investigator J. Stokes who responded to the scene. [WITNESS #1] also stated that she believes the shooter(s) were in a white Honda Accord that was parked on scene and they were in room [REDACTED]. The owner of the Accord was also in room [REDACTED]. We made contact with her. She identified herself as [REDACTED] and advised that it was her Accord.
Deputy Gibson and I asked her if we could look inside the room. We searched for possible suspects, but there were only small children and two other adult females. All stated they didn’t witness anything, and [REDACTED] stated she had just arrived. She volunteered for us to search her vehicle and unlocked it for us. We didn’t recover anything from the Accord.
M&M towing arrived and towed the Nissan to the crime lab for investigative purposes. The Crime Lab collected all physical evidence.
