On July 4, 2025, at approximately 2324 hours, I, Deputy Anthony Taylor, responded to a report of a person shot at [1100 BLOCK] Sparkle Avenue.

Upon my arrival, I observed a male identified as [VICTIM #1] lying on the hallway floor with a gunshot wound to his right side. [VICTIM #2], who was present at the scene, stated that she and [VICTIM #1] were sitting on the couch in the living room when he was struck by gunfire. Also present in the residence at the time of the shooting were [VICTIM #3], [VICTIM #4], [VICTIM #5], and [VICTIM #6].

While securing the scene, I located a 9mm shell casing in front of the couch where [VICTIM #1] had been sitting. A neighbor reported seeing a gray SUV involved in the shooting. A total of fifteen (15) .223 shell casings were located in front of [1100 BLOCK] Sparkle Avenue, indicating that gunfire may have originated from outside that location.

The residence at [1100 BLOCK] Sparkle Avenue sustained a gunshot through the living room window, which penetrated the residence and struck the couch where [VICTIM #1] was sitting.

[VICTIM #1] was transported to Atrium Hospital at 777 Hemlock Street for treatment and was unable to provide a statement at the time of this report. [VICTIM #6] stated the incident may be related to two previous incidents. She provided two case cards referencing those incidents:

Case #2025-26685
Case #2025-24755

Person Investigator Moss was notified and responded to the hospital. All recovered shell casings will be submitted to the crime lab.
