On 10/18/2025, I, Dep. Tre. Lewis responded to 350 Hospital Dr. (Piedmont Hospital ER) in reference to a possible person shot call.
Upon arrival, I met with Piedmont Hospital Security Sgt. Zwaga and Sgt. Roberson, who stated that a black female and a black male, both wearing ski masks, had pulled up to the ER entrance. The male was suffering from a gunshot wound. Hospital staff and nurses immediately responded to the vehicle and began removing the male subject onto a stretcher.
Sgt. Zwaga advised that while the medical staff was assisting the male, he observed two firearms beside him in the vehicle. Sgt. Zwaga and Sgt. Roberson secured and cleared both weapons. One was identified as a black AR-style rifle, serial number 21459998 AN-15, and the other was a black AK-style rifle, serial number PAC 1153816 21. The firearms were made safe and placed in the officers’ possession for security.
Sgt. Zwaga further stated that while hospital staff were tending to the male, the female who had brought him in stated, “I gotta go tell his mother,” before leaving the scene. Hospital staff also advised that the female left driving a silver Honda with a red “drive-off” dealership tag. When asked by staff for the male’s name, the female stated that she did not know his full name.
Upon my investigation, medical staff advised that the male was in critical condition and was not expected to survive. I immediately notified my supervisor and requested an investigator to respond to the scene. The male victim was later identified as [REDACTED], who was pronounced deceased at 22:50 hours.
Investigator Stokes arrived on scene and assumed the investigation. The firearms were turned over to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab for processing.
