On June 27, 2025, at approximately 1209 hours, I, Sgt. George Witherspoon, made contact with the victim, [VICTIM #1], at her residence on Amadahi Trail in reference to a domestic violence complaint.

Upon arrival, Ms. [VICTIM #1] appeared visibly distressed and agreed to provide a detailed statement regarding ongoing abuse by her child’s father, identified as Shamarco Brown. Ms. [VICTIM #1] reported that the abuse began in January 2025 and has escalated significantly following the birth of their child on May 10, 2025. She described the suspect as an alcoholic who becomes violent when intoxicated. She recounted an incident approximately two weeks prior in which Brown backhanded her in the nose. When she sought medical treatment at Piedmont North for the injury, she told medical staff that she had fallen, out of fear of retaliation.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] further stated that Brown has made repeated threats to her life, telling her, “I’ll kill you, the kids… everybody.” She also described multiple incidents where Brown choked her to the point she nearly lost consciousness. Fearing for her safety and that of her children, she has hidden all knives in the residence. She described the suspect as increasingly paranoid, controlling, and emotionally unstable.

At approximately 1638 hours the same day, Ms. [VICTIM #1] contacted law enforcement again to report that Mr. Brown had returned and unlawfully entered her residence. She stated that he gained entry by climbing through a garage window leading into the kitchen. Ms. [VICTIM #1] was reportedly on the phone at the time and told dispatch that Brown became enraged when she refused to answer the door. Dispatchers could hear the argument occurring in the background during the call. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that once inside, Brown took possession of their newborn child while she evacuated her other children from the residence and into the street to avoid a physical altercation.

Responding deputies arrived to find Mr. Brown exiting the residence while still holding the infant. Mr. Brown was immediately detained. He claimed he had simply knocked on the door and entered when it was not answered. He denied entering through the window, although personal items belonging to him, including his state-issued identification card, were located on the floor directly beneath the garage window — indicating likely entry through that point. Brown also stated he lived at the residence; however, he was unable to produce a key and admitted that his name is not listed on the lease.

Brown acknowledged that his loud and aggressive demeanor may have frightened Ms. [VICTIM #1] and the children and generated alarm with neighbors. Despite this, he continued yelling and shouting at the scene and a strong odor of alcoholic beverage was detected on his breath and coming from his person. Witness canvassing confirmed neighbors heard the commotion but could not observe what occurred inside the residence.

Mr. Brown was read his Miranda rights and agreed to continue speaking with deputies. He denied making any threats toward Ms. [VICTIM #1] or the children and claimed she was only frightened due to the deputies’ arrival. Brown admitted to consuming several miniature “shooter” bottles of alcohol prior to the incident. Due to the ongoing danger and the victim’s expressed fear of retaliation, Ms. [VICTIM #1] and her children were relocated to a Crisis Line Safe House. She stated she did not feel safe returning home and feared that Mr. Brown may enlist others to retaliate against her.

Mr. Brown was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center for detention and processing on charges pending further investigation.
