On April 15, 2025, Animal Control Enforcement (ACE) was called to [1600 BLOCK] Selma Place by the Civil Sheriff’s Office regarding abandoned animals at the location, where deputies were serving a dispossessory warrant.

Upon arrival, Officer Galeazzo of Animal Enforcement observed unsanitary conditions inside the residence. Multiple piles of feces and urine were present throughout the home. Officer Galeazzo contacted the defendant and owner of the animals, Taiyanna Mullins, and asked her to retrieve the animals. Mullins responded that she was out of town. Galeazzo informed her that she would be charged with animal abandonment. Mullins replied, “OK.”

Officer Galeazzo impounded five animals from the residence. The animals had been left without food or water and were determined to have been abandoned by Mullins.

I interviewed a neighbor, [WITNESS #1], who stated that Mullins had been living at the residence since at least November 2024. [WITNESS #1] confirmed that all the animals present on the day of the eviction had lived at [1600 BLOCK] Selma Place with Mullins the entire time.

Based on the observed abandonment and the unsanitary living conditions, there is probable cause to pursue charges for animal cruelty and abandonment of domesticated animals.

Officer Galeazzo completed a Chameleon report to document her findings.
