Deputy Hofmann spoke to [WITNESS #1] via telephone from the Telephone Reporting Unit (TRU). Ms. [WITNESS #1] reported that her mother-in-law [VICTIM #1]’s full-time care giver, Taylor Causey, has been fraudulently using [VICTIM #1]’s credit card. The care giver has also taken [VICTIM #1] to a Jeep dealership in Macon to co-sign on a loan for a vehicle. Furthermore, Causey has taken out a life insurance policy through Guarantee Trust Life on [VICTIM #1].
[WITNESS #1] said that [VICTIM #1] lives in the Memory Ward of Carlisle Place located at 5300 Zebulon Road in Room [REDACTED]. Taylor Causey is [VICTIM #1]’s full-time caretaker. [WITNESS #1] said she and her husband became suspicious of fraudulent activity when they noticed the credit card bill went from $1400 to $3400 last month. Currently the credit card bill is $9,000.
After arriving at [VICTIM #1]’s residence at the memory care ward of Carlisle Place, [WITNESS #1] said they found out that Taylor Causey had taken [VICTIM #1] to the Jeep dealership in Macon to co-sign for a vehicle. A life insurance policy was also found to have been taken out on [VICTIM #1] by Taylor Causey. [VICTIM #1]’s son is in the process of pulling credit reports on [VICTIM #1] to check for any additional fraudulent activity.
[WITNESS #1] was provided with the case number, my email address, the email address to request a copy of the report, the physical location of Central Records, and the telephone number to investigations. Deputy Hofmann checked the jail file and found a Taylor Causey with date of birth of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] that had been arrested in 2020 for False Statements.
[WITNESS #1] provided the phone number for Taylor Causey as [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. The phone number provided for Taylor Causey is the same phone number listed on the driver’s license information for [REDACTED] with date of birth [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. The driver’s license photo is for Taylor Causey. [WITNESS #1] provided photos of Taylor Causey with [VICTIM #1], a photo of the Guarantee Trust Life envelope, and a photo of the credit card bill for last month. A copy of the photos was forwarded to [REDACTED] in Central Records to be added to the case file.
This case is active. A copy of this report has been forwarded to property investigations.
