On May 15th, I Deputy Hughes, with Sgt Lewis, responded to a dispatch for an Armed Robbery.

The suspect, Timothy Black, had drawn a firearm on the victim, [VICTIM #1], who was on his way to get his bike fixed. Having fled on the bike, the suspect then abandoned it near Nassubaum Ave. The suspect’s description included an all-black hoodie, shorts, a black backpack, and dreds.

Sgt. Lewis and I, based on the suspect’s description, located him at Plant and College Drive.

The suspect (later identified as Timothy Black) noticed us driving up to him. I could hear him speaking on the phone, stating that the police were about to stop him, the police were about to fu*k with him, and he needed to get away. The suspect then pushed me (Dep. Hughes) and proceeded to run away.

I then drew my taser and fired five shots at the suspect, missing all of them before returning to the foot chase.

I then chased him to Ingram Pye Elementary School, where he was intercepted by Sgt’s Lewis and Min Ha, with Deputy Young Holmes blocking off the roadway. The suspect had at that point tossed the firearm, which was located by Sgt. Lewis in a nearby storm drain on Anthony Road at Ashley St.

Sgt. Lewis then notified the Violent Crimes unit, and Black was taken to the investigations division for questioning.

With the suspect in custody, I met with the victim, [VICTIM #1], to get his side of the story.

He began by telling me he was taking his bike up the road to a local repair shop when he noticed the suspect(Timothy Black) at the top of the hill looking down at him. [VICTIM #1] attempted to move around the suspect, who continued to block his way. Eventually the victim attempts to force his way past when the suspect draws a firearm and points it directly at the victim, demanding his bike. The victim states the suspect claimed he knew what this was, it’s fu*king southside, what did you think was gonna happen. The victim, fearing for his life, relinquished the bike and let the suspect leave without incident.

The firearm was previously stolen out of Bibb County case #2025-108366.
