On 6/18/2025 at approximately 1902 hours, I, Deputy Jonah Gordon 2748, responded to [700 BLOCK] Baconsfield Dr Apartment [REDACTED] in reference to a theft.

I met with [VICTIM #1]. He stated he got a notification that a package of his was delivered previously in the day. He provided a screen shot of an image showing his package in front of his door. [VICTIM #1] stated the package was missing from in front of his door. He stated he checked the apartment’s security camera footage and observed that a black male had conducted an Instacart delivery earlier in the day. The male is seen delivering groceries. He is shown entering the building, and he goes to apartment [REDACTED]. It is not shown that he goes to that apartment, however the residents of apartment [REDACTED] ordered Instacart. At 1237 hours, the cameras show the male leaving with [VICTIM #1]’s package and a second unknown package.

[VICTIM #1] informed me that he called Instacart and they provided the information for the driver. He provided the name Zontez Anderson. I checked Zontez through CAD and he returned with a date of birth of [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. The picture attached to Zontez’s GCIC/NCIC return confirmed that Zontez is the one in the video stealing the packages. I later obtained a warrant for Zontez’s arrest for misdemeanor theft by taking. [VICTIM #1] reported the projector that was stolen was valued at approximately $800.

[VICTIM #1] later informed me that he was speaking to Zontez on his phone, and planning to meet up to get his projector back. [VICTIM #1] showed me the messages, and they planned to meet at McDonald’s on Harrison Rd. Sgt. Sampson stated that I could not go down there due to the area being way out of my assigned district. I informed [VICTIM #1] to call the Sheriff’s Office if he wanted a deputy to respond when he went there. [VICTIM #1] was provided a case number.

On 6/18/2025 at approximately 2313 hours, I responded back to [700 BLOCK] Baconsfield Dr in reference to [VICTIM #1] calling again saying that Zontez was meeting him there. I met with [VICTIM #1], [VICTIM #2], [VICTIM #3], and [VICTIM #4] in the parking lot. [VICTIM #1] stated that he and Zontez had been communicating and he had Zontez meet him at this location. [VICTIM #1] was going to give Zontez money in exchange for the projector back. When Zontez arrived on scene, the four of them surrounded him and told him to give the item back. Zontez said he wanted the money first, but [VICTIM #1] said he was not giving Zontez any money. [VICTIM #1] stated he was able to get the box back, however he later checked inside it, and Zontez filled it with pieces of plastic without the projector.

[VICTIM #1] stated [VICTIM #2], [VICTIM #3], and [VICTIM #4] had used their vehicles to block the gates so that Zontez could not leave prior to law enforcement arriving. When Zontez saw that they were boxing him in, he drew a firearm on them. All parties stated when they observed the firearm they backed off. Zontez was able to exit the gate and go over the curb to get away.

Additional warrants will be obtained for four counts of aggravated assault for drawing the firearm on [VICTIM #1], [VICTIM #2], [VICTIM #3], and [VICTIM #4].
