On the given date and time, I was dispatched to [10 BLOCK] Park Ln., Waycross, Brantley GA., in reference to a male subject hitting a female subject with a bat. While in route to this call dispatched advised me that the male subject had started cutting himself on his wrist’s and beating himself in the head. Dispatch also advised me the female subject had hit the male subject with the bat. Once I arrived I spoke to Curtis McMichael. He stated, that the female subject [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had brought a bat over to her grandmothers house where he was at. He stated, she then pointed the bat at him and he told her she better not hit him with the bat. He stated, he turned around and that is when [REDACTED BY AGENCY] swung the bat and hit him. He stated, he then grabbed the bat from [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and threw it and he then left.

I went and spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. She stated, that she heard Curtis yelling across the yard at her grandma [WITNESS #1]. She stated, she went over to her grandmothers to try and get him away from her. She stated, she had an orange aluminum bat in her hand and told Curtis to leave. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated, that is when Curtis grabbed onto the bat and hit her across the face and head with the bat which made her fall to the ground. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] grandmother told him she was calling the cops and that is when he went back to his mothers house.

I then talked with [WITNESS #1]. She stated, Curtis came over to her place to try and stay with her. She stated, his mother kicked him out of her place. She stated, she told him no and that is when he started yelling at her. She stated, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then came over with the bat and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and Curtis started arguing. She stated, she did not see who hit who first but she did she Curtis hit [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in the head with the bat.

I then went back over to [10 BLOCK] Park Ln, and spoke with [WITNESS #2]. She stated, she heard yelling on her camera and she stepped out of her house and saw [REDACTED] and Curtis fighting. She stated, she told them she was calling the cops and they both stopped fighting. [WITNESS #2] stated, she did not see Curtis hit [REDACTED BY AGENCY] with the bat.

Brantley EMS then arrived on scene and checked both [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and Curtis out. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had a red face across her nose and both eyes, as well as a big knot on the back side of her head. She refused treatment from EMS. Curtis had scratch marks on him and cut marks on his wrist that was self inflicted. He told EMS he had taken some seizure medication and they told me he needed to get checked out at the hospital.

I then took Curtis into custody and transported him to the Waycross Emergency Room to have him checked out. While there the doctor had head scan and blood work done. Head scan came back normal but blood worked showed the seizure medicine he took was too mutch. The ER admitted Curtis to the hospital for observation. I then released him into there custody and came back to the Sheriffs Office and typed up a warrant application for Aggravated Assault. I told Curtis he would be getting charged with Aggravated Assault for hitting [REDACTED BY AGENCY] over the head with an aluminum bat. He stated, he would turn himself in after he got out of the hospital.
