On Friday August 1st, 2025, I Deputy Cooper was dispatched to [800 BLOCK] Little Buffalo Creek Rd in reference to a verbal dispute. Upon arrival I met Ms. [VICTIM #1] who informed me that the offender Mr. Darrell McGuire was hired to do some yard work a few days back and was allowed to stay at the residence until the job was complete. Ms. [VICTIM #1] said instead of working that Mr. McGuire spent the last few days drinking and damaged a safe inside the house. Ms. [VICTIM #1] said she asked Mr. McGuire to leave the residence and Mr. McGuire refused to leave and instead sat in the car. Ms. [VICTIM #1] asked if I could ask Mr. McGuire to leave the property and that she didn’t want to press charges over the damaged safe.
After speaking with Ms. [VICTIM #1], I spoke with Mr. McGuire. I asked Mr. McGuire if he had anywhere to go and he told me that he would call someone to come and get him. I asked Mr. McGuire if he had any belongings on the property and Mr. McGuire said he had a few items inside the car, house, and tools inside the storage shed. Mr. McGuire seemed to be intoxicated at the time. He had slurred speech, disoriented, and a hard time keeping balance. I asked Mr. McGuire to gather his belongings, and Mr. McGuire began grabbing things out of the vehicle and placed them on the ground before forgetting what he was doing and then placing the items back in the seat. I asked Mr. McGuire to take the items back out of the car. Once Mr. McGuire took the items from inside the car, I asked Mr. McGuire to gather his items out of the residence.
After several minutes of Mr. McGuire gathering his belongings out of the residence the complainant noticed he had grabbed several items that were not his. Finally, after allowing Mr. McGuire to gather his belongings, I gave him a chance to call someone to come and pick him up. Mr. McGuire was unable to contact anyone to come to help him. Mr. McGuire was too intoxicated to allow him to leave the residence, so I cited and arrested Mr. McGuire for disorderly conduct CO-45-01. Mr. McGuire was allowed to leave several totes under the car port and his toolbox in the storage building and was also advised whenever he decided to get his belongings that he would need a Deputy to escort him on the property.
