On the given date and time, I was dispatched to [REDACTED BY AGENCY], Hortense, Brantley County, in reference to a physical domestic. On the way to this residence, Nahunta PD Officer Champion went enroute with myself do to the other deputies being on another physical domestic call. A few minutes after Officer Champion arrived he came over the radio stating for me to step up.
Once I arrived Officer Champion was talking with the aggressor, Jonathan Elliot on the back porch. I heard Officer Champion asking why Jonathan shoved his duaghter and that he got aggressive with him when he arrived. Jonathan stated, he was aggressive becuase Officer Champion went into his house and told him he wasnt aloud to be in there. Officer Champion stated, he called for him and then he would not come out so that is when he went in after him becuase he got a call for him being aggressive.
Jonathan then tried going back inside and thats when Officer Champion, Myself and his wife, [WITNESS #1] told him no. Officer Champion told him we had a call out here becuase he was acting out becuase he was drinking. He stated, he was aloud to drink. Officer Champion told him he was but he could just chill out and drink and not be aggressive.
I then told him we were there becuase he was cuasing issues and pushing people. He asked, why I was accusing him. I told him I wasnt that everyone at the residence was saying he did. He told me, I don’t have a dog in this fight because I was not there. Thats when [WITNESS #1] told him, yes he does he is a police officer. Jonathan stated, he knew his rights. [WITNESS #1] told him he did not. Then he asked if I knew [REDACTED]. Officer Champion told him he was not there at the moment so it did not matter.
He tried going back into the house and his wife told him no. Thats when I asked him if he put his hands on somebody. He stated, no I didn’t, get the fu*k down the road, I know my rights alright. [WITNESS #1] told Jonathan he need to cool off and go to his brothers and he told her that he was not leaving becuase that was his house in his name. [WITNESS #1] then started crying. Jonathan then told [WITNESS #1] to move.
I told him that he was not going to be aggressive. He then raised his voice in an aggressive way and told me he has not been aggressive. I told him he was fixing to be in handcuffs becuase he was being disorderly towards us. He then stepped towards me and stated, listen here fu*king Wyatt Earp while pointing his finger in my face.
I then told him he was going to jail for disorderly conduct. He then started resisting arrest. I gave him multiple chance to come with me. He then continued to resist arrest. Officer Champion told him he would taze him and he told him then do it. Officer Champion then Tazed Jonathan. It had no effect on him so I then grabbed Jonathan arm and took him to the floor and placed his right arm behind his back. He was still resisting at this point. So Officer Champion tried dry stunning him with the tazer on his back.
We finally got him into a pair of handcuffs. I patted his pants pockets down to make sure there wasnt any weapons in them. I sat Jonathan up and moved his hair out of his face and had Officer Champion place his shoes back on his foot before we walked to my truck.
Once we got to my truck I switch the cuffs around on Jonathan becuase he stated they were hurting him. He ask me what his charge was again and I told him it was disorderly conduct. I walked back to his wife [WITNESS #1] and duaghter [VICTIM #1] to get the full story.
[WITNESS #1] stated, he had been drinking and started acting aggressively towards his son [VICTIM #2]. She stated, he kicked the door in, into his sons bedroom and started yelling and cussing him out and that is when she stepped in between Jonathan and there son.
[VICTIM #1] and her husband [REDACTED] then showed up to the house. [VICTIM #1] stated, he tried to push past her and get to her husband [REDACTED] during the altercation in the house. That is when we arrived on scene.
I charged Jonathan with Disorderly Conduct and Obstructing or Hindering Law Enforcement Officers for resisting arrest after telling him twice he was arrested. I then took him to jail and turned him over to the jail staff.
