On the given date and time, I received a call to Brock Road in reference to a domestic dispute involving violence. While I was in route, the dispatcher finally advised that a male subject (Morgan Christian Stewart) was standing on top of a car holding a gun pointed at himself threatening suicide. Deputy Jordan Melton and Nahunta Officer Larry Champion arrived on scene before I did. Deputy Melton stated that the male subject was still holding the gun to himself and refusing to put it down. When I arrived on scene, the male subject was still standing on top of a car holding a pistol to his chin and neck area and would not put it down. We pleaded with him to put the gun down and he finally threw it down and walked over to us without any further incident.
Deputy Melton and Officer Champion dealt with Christian and I walked over to get the gun and clear it. The gun was loaded with 5 hollow point bullets. I unloaded it and handed it to Deputy Melton. I then walked over to speak with [VICTIM #1] (Christian’s wife) to find out what was going on to cause this scene. [VICTIM #1] stated that Christian had run around on her with a 17 year old and he was mad about that. [VICTIM #1] walked over to her apartment [REDACTED] and never came back out. I then walked over there to get more information from her about what had happened.
[WITNESS #1] stated that she has been staying there with [VICTIM #1] and Christian and she was there for the whole thing. [WITNESS #1] stated that Christian had left and came back and heard her and [VICTIM #1] talking. She stated that he did not like what they were saying and he got angry and cut the power off and she cut it back on. She stated that Christian then started tearing things up inside the apartment. She stated that he ripped the door of the freezer part of the refrigerator off and slung everything out of it onto the floor. [WITNESS #1] stated that Christian then threw the stove over onto the floor causing damage to the oven door and possibly elsewhere on it. She stated that he also slung everything off of the table onto the floor. There were broken things on the floor and some kind of liquid poured out onto the floor everywhere. [WITNESS #1] also stated that she heard a recording on [VICTIM #1]’s phone of Christian telling his mother that he would “kill that bi*ch” referring to [VICTIM #1].
I asked [VICTIM #1] about the recording and she stated that he did not mean what he was saying about killing her. She stated that he would never do it. I got statements from [VICTIM #1] and [WITNESS #1]. While we were yelling at Christian to put the gun down, [VICTIM #1] made a comment to him about him doing that in front of their child [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [WITNESS #1] stated that Christian got quiet for a short period after they called 911 and started picking things up. She stated that he finally made the comment “if the cops show up, I’ll blow my brains out!”. [WITNESS #1] stated that he then went outside with the gun and got on top of the car and threatened to kill himself.
