On today’s date May 3, 2025, around 2257 hrs., I along with Deputy Priscilla Norris responded to [200 BLOCK] Pine Court Rd., in reference to a subject with a gun. The caller advised dispatch that it’s an emergency and that she cant talk. She also stated to dispatch that there is a gun pointed at her, and a male started screaming in the background. The caller then disconnected that phone. Upon arrival I could hear what sounded like a male subject talking loudly, but it sounded like it was coming from the neighbor’s residence. I then heard the subject say again I’m over here I’m the one you are looking for or something to that affect. We were then able to locate that subject at the edge of the property by the road.

The male subject, later identified as Ronald Campbell, then stated that he had an unloaded shot gun. I then was able to see Ronald holding a black in color shotgun over his head. At that point I drew my service weapon pointing it at Ronald giving loud verbal commands to put the gun down. Ronald complied, and I then stated to him to walk towards me. When Ronald complied, I had him get on the ground, and at that point he was placed in handcuffs. Ronald was naked at the time I placed him in hand cuffs. I told Ronald he was being detained at this time, and he stated to please take him. Deputy Norris retrieved the shot gun, and an unspent shot gun shell that was on top of the fence post where Ronald stated it was. The gun and shot gun shell was secured in Deputy Norris’s patrol vehicle. I then placed Ronald in the back seat of my patrol vehicle. The shot gun was a black in color 20 Gauge Maverick Model Number 88 SN: MV07722Y pump action. The un-spent shell was a 2 ¾ 20 Gauge shot shell 7 ½ shot.

Before I questioned Ronald, I read him his Miranda rights, and he stated that he understood. When asked what happened he stated that he did not know. He then stated that sometimes when you get drunk things get out of hand. Ronald then stated to take him to jail. We then spoke to the complainant/victim [VICTIM #1]. When asked what happened [VICTIM #1] stated this is all of his mother’s stuff out of the garage. She then stated that they all had been drinking and having a good time. She then stated that sh*t just went south. She then stated to look at her lips, and that he had beat her all around the bedroom. Upon looking at her I noticed blood around her bottom lip. I then noticed her face was red, but it was hard to tell if the redness came from her being hit in the face or from her crying. [VICTIM #1] then stated that she did hit back. I then asked if they were married, and she stated they were engaged. [VICTIM #1] then stated that she did not know what to do that she was scared. She was then worried about him coming back, and I stated to her that he would not be coming back as far as tonight is concerned. I then asked if he had punched her in the face, and she stated yes. She stated that Ronald had hit, slapped, and punched her in the face.

When asked about the gun she stated it was a rifle. She stated that it may have been a .22 caliber. When asked if it could have been a shot gun, she stated that yes, but she did not know exactly. I then asked if he had it pointed at her, and she shook her head yes. She was then asked if he said anything to her when he pointed the gun at her, and she stated that he did not have to. She stated that they both have their spits/spats, but nothing like tonight. She then stated that “he could have killed me”. I then explained what she could do as far a Temporary Protective Order. After explaining everything to her I transported Ronald to the jail. Upon arrival at the jail Ronald was released to the on-duty jail staff without incident. Warrants are being secured for Aggravated Assault-FV, and Battery-FV. The shot gun, and shot gun shell was booked into evidence.
