On Wednesday, September 6th, 2023. I, Officer T. Baughman was dispatched by Burke County 911 at approximately 1707 hours, to a non emergent assault call at Magnolia Acres, Apartment [REDACTED], Waynesboro, GA 30830.

At approximately 1709 hours, myself and Sgt. J. Pritchett arrived on scene. Once on scene, I activated my department issued body camera.

When we got on scene, we made contact with the complainant of the assault call, [WITNESS #1]. (Case # 23-110566) While speaking with [WITNESS #1], her sister [VICTIM #1], explained that her boyfriend (Jamerikee Lewis), is the one who assaulted [WITNESS #1] and [VICTIM #1].

I examined [VICTIM #1] and noticed very visible injury to her face. [VICTIM #1] had two swollen, black eyes. Her right eye was almost completely shut from the swelling. [VICTIM #1]’s bottom lip, right side, was split and scabbed over. She also had knots on the top of her head at the hairline.

[VICTIM #1] also had scratches all over her face, mostly around the top of her head, and cheeks. (ALL PICTURES UPLOADED TO REPORT). She stated that all of the marks and bruises came from Jamerikee that early morning/night. She stated that they were out Just off MLK Dr. attempting to get [VICTIM #1]’s vehicle out of the roadway due to it breaking down.

She stated that during that time, Jamerikee threw her to the ground and began kicking her in the face. When I asked [VICTIM #1] why she didn’t contact the police when it happened, she stated that she believed Jamerikee took her phone, but wasn’t sure.

After instructing [VICTIM #1] to go get medical attention, and finishing up the case with her sister, [WITNESS #1]. I went back and issued warrants the following day on Jamerikee Lewis for Battery (family violence).

I ended this call with no further action at this time.
