On Sunday June 8, 2025, I (Sgt. L. Tolbert) was dispatched to Econo Lodge in reference to a Domestic in progress. On arrival I made contacted the [WITNESS #1] who stated that a female came behind the work desk and asked her for help. [WITNESS #1] also noticed the female lip had a bruise on it. [WITNESS #1] then stated she put the female in the storage room to hide her from the male.

I spoke to the female who was hiding inside the storage room at the Econo Lodge. The female later identified as Ms. [VICTIM #1], she stated that she was at the hotel (Econo Lodge) with Mr. Jamesian Gibbons. They were inside their room having sex when this incident took place. Afterward their encounter, she got her phone, and they began to have an argument. [VICTIM #1] stated the argument had continued from the night before, after Gibbons choked her earlier. [VICTIM #1] stated this morning she thought everything was ok until they were done (sexually). “[VICTIM #1] stated Gibbons wanted her to call another girl to join them she stated she told him “No” she was not like that.

[VICTIM #1] stated Gibbons did not like what she said he then pushed her off him. [VICTIM #1] stated this is when she got up and put her clothes on. [VICTIM #1] then stated Gibbons threw her red bag at her. [VICTIM #1] stated she Yelled why did you throw my bag at me. Gibbons stated, “Cause you acting dumb bi*ch”. [VICTIM #1] stated she yelled at him again, this is when Gibbons began choking her and put his hands over her mouth and a pillow over her face. [VICTIM #1] stated this continued for approximately 45 minutes off and on. Then for approximately 10 minutes she tried to run out of the room, but Gibbons was telling her “No.”

Gibbons was arrested for Battery, his hands were place in the small of his back handcuffed, transported to Burke County Jail without further incident. The patrol vehicle was searched before and after transport nothing was found.

Pictures were taken of [VICTIM #1]’s neck area; she had complaints of injuries. [VICTIM #1] was taken to the police department to wait on her ride from Vidalia Georgia. EMS was called out to the Police department due to [VICTIM #1] complaint of soreness. This is when I observed marks and bruises around [VICTIM #1]’s neck. [VICTIM #1] was transported to Burke Medical by EMS for her injuries.
