On October 15, 2025, at approximately 0148 hours, I responded to Stix Bar & Grill (660 West Bankhead Highway) in reference to a fight.
Dispatch advised the following:
10/25/2025 01:46 — MS, 534
W/M 30’S NO SHIRT GRY PANTS FIGHTING THE SECURITY 1032 N 1056 Y CURRENTLY IN THE PLOT 10/25/2025 01:47 — KT, 543
CUSTOMER IS DRUNK AND IS REFUSSING TO GET IN UBER// DID TRY TO FIGHT// SAID HE WANTS TO FIGHT AND TOOK HIS SHIRT OFF// W M 28 YOM NO SHIRT// [WITNESS #1] [REDACTED]
I arrived on the scene and observed of the complainants, [WITNESS #2] (Stix Security), standing by with the offender, Austin Hawkins, outside of the entryway to Stix on the sidewalk.
[WITNESS #2] advised he was using the bathroom inside Stix and observed Hawkins who was also inside the bathroom and heavily intoxicated. Observing Hawkins standing beside [WITNESS #2], he was unsteady on his feet, had thick slurred speech, watery bloodshot eyes, and wreaked of alcoholic beverages. [WITNESS #2] said he attempted to escort Hawkins from the property. Hawkins became physically confrontational and pushed him in the chest, which would entice a fight. [WITNESS #2] said he then forcefully removed Hawkins from the property and stood outside with him, awaiting police arrival. [WITNESS #2] additionally advised Hawkins was shirtless at one point, attempting to incite and fight people, but had him put his shirt back on.
During this time, Hawkins attempted to leave the scene and walk away. I stopped Hawkins and told him to stay here (at the scene). Hawkins again tried to walk away and push past me. I wrapped my arms around Hawkins’ body and walked him into the exterior wall of Stix. Hawkins tensed his body and tried to keep his left arm under his waist/stomach area. Hawkins arm was forcefully taken from the front of his body and placed at the small of his back, where his right hand already was. Hawkins was secured in properly fitted, double-locked handcuffs to the rear. Hawkins remained with back up officers while I went to speak with an additional complainant, [WITNESS #1].
[WITNESS #1] (Stix Bartender) said Hawkins was sitting there (inside Stix) “being completely drunk and obnoxious”. [WITNESS #1] said she told Hawkins she was going to call him an Uber and that if he walked outside, she was going to call the cops. [WITNESS #1] said she served him a beer, but he did not drink it. [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2] both said Hawkins arrived to Stix in his current intoxicated state.
[WITNESS #1] said Hawkins told her he was going to walk, but instructed him not to because he would be coming from their bar and he was drunk. [WITNESS #1] said she used Hawkins phone to order him an Uber. When the Uber showed up, [WITNESS #1] said Hawkins refused to leave the bar. [WITNESS #1] said Hawkins said he had to pee and went to the bathroom where he encountered [WITNESS #2]. [WITNESS #1] said when Hawkins was escorted from the bathroom and outside, Hawkins tore his shirt off and tried to start a fight. [WITNESS #1] said she told the Uber to leave and then called 911. [WITNESS #2] spoke up and again stated Hawkins pushed him and also [WITNESS #1], when he started to try and fight.
While on-scene, I overheard an officer say Hawkins was one of the subjects in a previous fight at Cinema Tavern (200 West Montgomery Street) tonight. This call for service was received at 2227 hours on October 24, 2025. Dispatch advised the following:
10/24/2025 22:27 — KT, 543
STATES THAT TWO M COULD POSS BE MORE INVOLVED// THEY HAVE THROWN PUNCHES , TABLES AND CHAIRS// ONE SHIRTLESS WM , BM BLK SHIRT// ONE INSIDE BUILDING ONE OUTSIDE
Austin Hawkins, one of the involved parties who was located by Sergeant Massey and Officer Hamilton, was criminally trespassed from the property and released.
Hawkins was informed he was under arrest. I searched Hawkins incident-to-arrest and escorted him to the rear seat of my patrol vehicle. Hawkins sat down in the rear seat, but refused to put his legs inside. Hawkins’ legs had to be forced into the vehicle. Hawkins was transported to the Villa Rica Police Department.
Upon arrival, Hawkins exited the rear seat, stared at me, stood up, and tried to enter my personal space with his body and face. I turned Hawkins away from me and closed the patrol car’s rear passenger door. Hawkins said he wanted to be read his rights, which did not apply at this moment, as I grabbed his left arm and started to walk him to the PD book-in room door. Hawkins refused to walk and began to push backwards in an attempt to forcefully stop walking. I had to push Hawkins and force him to walk. Hawkins got to the doorway, tried to turn towards me again in an attempt to close the distance between us. I, again, used both hands to turn Hawkins and guide him through the doorway. Hawkins tensed his body and tried to stop walking once more.
I took my left arm and weaved it between Hawkin’s right arm and back, wrapping my hand over his shoulder. Hawkins was escorted to a holding cell. Once at the holding cell, Hawkins refused to comply and stand still in order to remove his handcuffs and be placed inside the holding cell. Hawkins tensed his body, started to turn his shoulders and arms to break free, but was unsuccessful. I turned Hawkins into the cell’s wall. Hawkins, again, tensed his body, and tried to turn his shoulders and elbows into and away from me. I grabbed Hawkins with both arms and spun him to the ground, where he ultimately apologized and complied with my commands. Hawkins’ handcuffs were removed and he sat in the holding cell.
Hawkins was booked-in, fingerprinted, and issued citations for Public Drunk, Disordely Conduct, and Obstruction (city ordinances). After book-in, Hawkins was placed back into a holding cell to await transport. While Hawkins was inside the holding cell, he attempted to break the glass window by striking it repeatedly before stopping. Hawkins was then escorted to a patrol vehicle and transported to Carroll County Jail for housing/processing.
