On 05/07/2026 at approximately 2006 hours, I responded to the area of 700 South Park Street Room [REDACTED] (Quality Inn) in reference to an assault that already occurred call.
Once on scene, I spoke to the victim, who stated that only a couple minutes before officer’s arrival Brian Goins (offender) punched him in the face and head multiple times while in room [REDACTED]. The victim’s bottom front teeth were embedded into his lower lip, causing steady bleeding and disfigurement at the time of the report.
The victim stated that he moved into the room [REDACTED] just a few days ago, and was visiting with a friend [REDACTED] who stays in room [REDACTED]. The victim stated that while inside of the room [REDACTED], while near the bed, Brian entered the room and asked for help with getting some food, as Brian is homeless. The victim stated that Brian was only in the room for a minute or so, and he told Brian that he would not be able to help him with much at the time. The victim stated that Brian became angry at this answer, and punched him with his fists multiple times in the head and face. The victim stated that Brian then left the room and went into the wood line between the Quality Inn and Tanner Medical Center.
The victim stated that Brian was wearing a baby blue shirt, possibly with a jacket over it, and that he was a tall black male. A description was given out over the radio to be on the look out for a suspect matching that description.
Brian was located by other officers.
The victim sustained multiple busies and bumps on both sides and the top of his head, as well as his bottom front teeth embedded and puncturing his bottom lip. The injuries sustained caused disfigurement at the time of the report.
Blood spatter was found on the floor from the door side of the bed and chair, down the hall and into the bathroom, as well as on the bed and toilet.
The victim was transported by West Georgia Ambulance unit 46 to Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton for treatment.
The victim wished to prosecute. CID was notified of the incident.
Brian was arrested for OCGA 16-5-24 Aggravated Battery for punching and disfiguring the victim.
A warrant is pending.
