CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. – Carrollton Police officers arrested an 18-year-old man after his 13-year-old sister told their mother he had trapped her in the bathroom, touched her inappropriately, and talked about having sex with her. Billy Trey Bonner later admitted to the officers that he had pinned his sister against the wall, prevented her from leaving, grabbed her breasts, and tried to pull down her shorts when she got out of bed to go to the restroom just after 2 AM.
The officers responded to the home at approximately 7:00 PM on June 10, 2024, regarding a sexual assault and spoke with the complainants. The stepfather described a previous incident in which Billy, still a minor at the time, had exposed his genitals to his sister, resulting in him being sent to live with his grandmother temporarily.
He explained that he was at work when he received a call from his wife about the assault. He immediately left work and headed home to confront his stepson.
He said that the victim had stated that her brother pushed her back inside the bathroom when she tried to leave. He pulled down her shirt, and she instantly pulled it back up and asked him what he was doing.
He then reached for her shorts, and she told him to stop. He grabbed her arms, pinned her against the wall, and uttered, “Why don’t we just do it once?”
She managed to break free and run into her bedroom. The stepfather added that their house was equipped with security cameras that had captured some of the incident, and the video was submitted as evidence.
He said that when he asked Billy about the incident, he admitted that his sister’s account was true.
The mother explained that her daughter had told her that Billy had tried to place his hands down her pants before she escaped. She gave consent for the officers to interview the victim, who was in her room.
The officers noted that both the mother and the victim had been crying. The victim detailed the sexual assault, adding that she could not move when Billy had her pushed against the wall because he was stronger than she was.
She said Billy had stated that they should have sex “just one time.” After the assault, he entered her room and sat at the foot of her bed for a few minutes.
Billy later told an officer that he had sat on her bed “to scare” her. From the rear of a police vehicle, he said that he had not been “thinking clearly” during the assault.
The officers transported Billy to the police department for further investigation and then to the Carroll County Jail. He faces charges of child molestation, criminal attempt to commit a felony, false imprisonment, and kidnapping.

[NARRATIVE #1 on June 10, 2024]
On 06/10/2024 at approximately 1855 hours, I (Ofc. Kennedy) was dispatched to the residence of [100 BLOCK] Autumn Glen Drive in reference to a sexual assault that had previously occurred. While en route to the location, dispatch advised the daughter of the complainant informed him that her older brother sexually assaulted her. Dispatch added the victim was held up against a wall during the incident. Dispatch stated the victim was 13 yoa (years of age) female, and the suspect was her 18 yoa brother.
Upon arrival, I observed two males in the driveway as I approached the residence. I exited my patrol vehicle and approached the residence, where I met with the complainant. The complainant, later identified as [REDACTED], stated that he was the victim’s stepfather. The other male, later identified as Billy Bonner, stood atop the driveway while I spoke with [REDACTED] regarding the incident. I asked [REDACTED] who was involved in the incident. [REDACTED] explained the incident was between his stepson (Billy) and stepdaughter, later identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] [REDACTED] began by describing a previous incident between Billy and [REDACTED BY AGENCY]
[REDACTED] explained that when Billy was younger, there was an incident in which he exposed himself to [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Due to them both being minors at the time, [REDACTED] stated they sent Billy away to live with his grandmother for a while. I asked [REDACTED] what had occurred prior to arriving at the residence. [REDACTED] noted that he was at work and was notified by his wife, later identified as [REDACTED], that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told her that she was sexually assaulted by Billy around 0230 hours on 06/10/2024. [REDACTED] stated that once his wife informed him what had happened, he immediately left work and came home to confront Billy. I asked [REDACTED] what was said to him regarding the incident. [REDACTED] stated that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told [REDACTED] she went to the bathroom last night.
[REDACTED] explained that Billy was standing at the door when [REDACTED BY AGENCY] tried to leave the bathroom. [REDACTED] added that when [REDACTED BY AGENCY] tried to leave the bathroom, Billy pushed her back into the bathroom and pulled her shirt down. [REDACTED] stated that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] pulled her shirt back up and said, “What are you doing?”. [REDACTED] explained that Billy then reached for [REDACTED BY AGENCY]s shorts. [REDACTED] stated that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then told Billy to “stop.” [REDACTED] then stated Billy grabbed [REDACTED BY AGENCY]s arms and pinned her against the wall. [REDACTED] added that Billy had said to [REDACTED BY AGENCY], “Why don’t we just do it once?” [REDACTED] stated that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] broke free from Billy, exited the bathroom, and returned to her bedroom.
It should be noted that [REDACTED] did inform me that they have a video camera inside their residence due to his mother having cancer and needing assistance around the house. [REDACTED] said that in the video footage, you can see [REDACTED BY AGENCY] coming out of the bathroom and walking back to her room. [REDACTED] added that he could see Billy on camera around the bathroom and then return to his bedroom. This video footage was obtained for investigation purposes.
[REDACTED] added that he first spoke with [REDACTED] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] about the incident when he arrived home. He then spoke with Billy about the incident. [REDACTED] explained that when he confronted Billy about the incident, he told Billy this was his one chance to tell the truth. [REDACTED] stated that Billy had told him [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was not lying about the incident, and it was true.
I relocated to speak with [REDACTED] ([REDACTED BY AGENCY]s mother) about the incident. When I first began speaking with [REDACTED], I could visibly see that she was upset about the incident. [REDACTED] appeared to have been crying prior to speaking with me. When I first began speaking with [REDACTED], I explained what [REDACTED] told me about the incident. [REDACTED] nodded her head in agreement when I explained to her what [REDACTED] had told me. I then asked [REDACTED] when she was notified of the situation. [REDACTED] explained that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told her around 1815 hours.
[REDACTED] noted that she requested [REDACTED BY AGENCY] come outside to talk about the incident. I asked [REDACTED] why [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had waited so long to say something to her, and she said she was unsure. [REDACTED] added that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] explained that she was scared and uncertain about what to do. [REDACTED] noted that when she looked at the camera, she observed the incident around 0230 hours in the morning. [REDACTED] then stated that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told her Billy was outside the bathroom when [REDACTED BY AGENCY] tried to exit it. [REDACTED] explained that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that Billy then tried to reach into her shirt and touch her.
[REDACTED] noted that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] grabbed his hand and said, “No.” [REDACTED] then stated that Billy pushed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] against the wall and tried to grab her shorts. [REDACTED] explained that Billy then tried to put his hands down her pants, and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] again said, “No.” [REDACTED] then stated that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had returned to her room. I asked [REDACTED] if it would be okay if I spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] regarding the incident. [REDACTED] gave me consent to talk to [REDACTED BY AGENCY].
It should be noted that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was inside her bedroom when I entered the home. I observed a blond-haired white female with a red baseball jersey on when I walked into the bedroom. I asked if she was [REDACTED BY AGENCY] She stated that she was. I could visibly see that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] appeared to be upset. It seemed that she had been crying before my arrival. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had a redness below both eyes and kept sniffing, indicating that she had been crying. I asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to explain to me what happened from start to finish.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that around 0236 hours, she left her bedroom to use the bathroom. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] noted that Billy was in the kitchen when she was heading to the bathroom. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] explained that Billy was in front of the door when she left the bathroom. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she believed Billy had to use the bathroom, so she tried to leave. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] noted that Billy pushed her inside the bathroom and said, “You know your shirt is unbuttoned, and I can see your chest.” [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then said that Billy tried to touch her chest.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she then pushed Billy off of her, and Billy then pushed her back into the bathroom [REDACTED BY AGENCY] explained that Billy then tried to grab her shorts [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she was pushed up against the wall at this time. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] added that she could not move because Billy was stronger than her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] states that Billy then tried to pull her shorts down, and she was able to get away from him and return to her bedroom. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] explained that Billy said “just one time” during this interaction inside the bathroom.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] explained that she waited a while to tell her mom because she was not sure how she would react and was in shock. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] added that Billy eventually came into her bedroom after the incident inside the bathroom occurred. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Billy walked inside her bedroom bathroom and opened the door to her bedroom. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she returned to her room and put her “airpods” in, and Billy came and sat at the foot of her bed. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] explained that she had not said anything to Billy then, but he had sat at the foot of her bed for a few minutes before leaving.
After speaking with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] I relocated to speak with Billy about the incident. It should be noted that Cpl. Medert (see narrative for details) had previously talked to Billy. Cpl. Medert informed me that Billy admitted to all the events being true. Billy was currently detained and in the backseat of Cpl. Medert’s patrol vehicle. With Billy being detained and handcuffed to the rear, I read him his Miranda Warning. Billy understood and agreed to speak with me about the incident. I asked Billy to explain to me what happened. Billy stated that he was not thinking clearly when the incident occurred.
Billy noted the incident happened around 0130-0200 hours. Billy stated that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was wearing a nighttime shirt, and he tried to grab her chest. Billy said that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] pushed him, and he pushed her back. Billy stated this occurred in the hallway bathroom. Billy stated that he was outside the bathroom when [REDACTED BY AGENCY] tried to leave. Bill added that he said “one time” to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] when they were inside the bathroom. Billy stated that he tried to put his hand down her bra. Billy noted that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was pinned against the wall at this time.
Billy added that he grabbed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] by the pants to avoid letting her run away. Billy stated that he intended to grab [REDACTED BY AGENCY]s pants and pull her closer to him. Billy then explained that he followed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] into her bedroom and sat on her bed. I asked him why he did this, and Billy told me it was to “scare” [REDACTED BY AGENCY].
It should be noted that I did speak with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] further regarding the incident. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] showed me the hallway bathroom where the incident occurred. While [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was inside the bathroom, she showed me how the incident occurred. Pictures and video of the incident are attached to this report.
Billy was arrested, handcuffed to the rear, and transported to the Police Department for further investigation. Upon completion, Billy was transported to Carroll County Jail and turned over to staff for booking.

[NARRATIVE #2 on June 10, 2024]
On 6/10/2024 at 18:55 hours, I responded to [100 BLOCK] Autumn Glen Drive in reference to a sexual assault that had already occurred between an adult male and his thirteen-year-old sister. Dispatch advised that the complainant advised that his daughter had been held against a wall by his son around 02:00 that morning.
Upon arrival, I observed Officer Kennedy speaking to the father/complainant, [REDACTED], in the driveway. I approached the suspect, Billy Bonner, at the top of the driveway near the garage. Billy was staring at me as I approached and fumbling his hands in his pockets. Billy consented to a pat-down of his person prior to our conversation. Billy’s mother was standing next to him and appeared distraught. Her face was flushed red from crying, and she was wiping tears from her eyes.
Billy said that he understood why I was called and that he was detained and not under arrest. I had Billy step away from his mother to speak to me about the incident. Billy advised that he grabbed his 13-year-old sister, [REDACTED BY AGENCY]s, chest. Stating the following: “I just touched her chest and got her against the wall, and that was it; that’s all that happened.” I began asking Billy for details about how he touched his sister’s chest. Billy stated that he touched her chest under her shirt but that she was wearing a bra covering her breasts. Billy stated that he did not touch the areola of her breasts.
While speaking to Billy, he appeared to cover his face in embarrassment as he recalled moments in the incident. Billy stated that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] did not touch him back or suggest that the touching was appropriate by engaging in flirtatious behavior before the encounter. I asked Billy what led him to decide to touch [REDACTED BY AGENCY]s chest. Billy advised that it was “more or less” an action of curiosity. Billy stated that after he touched her, she pushed him away and went to her room.
While speaking with Billy, I began talking about the female body, stating that female breasts are commonly regarded as intimate or sexual organs. Billy hastily nodded his head after I said this. I asked Billy if there was any other reason why he would touch his sister’s breasts than for sexual gratification. Billy responded, “No.” As he said this, his demeanor began to change. Billy began shifting his weight to each leg and began to dart his eyes left to right, taking in his surroundings. I asked Billy if [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had a developed chest, to which he shrugged his shoulders and would not speak.
Having gained Billy’s admission to touching his sister’s breasts for sexual gratification and seeing that his demeanor began shifting as his body went into fight or flight, I decided to detain him in handcuffs to prevent the possibility of any future incident. I was able to calm Billy down as I detained him, placing him in my patrol car where there was air conditioning.
I met with Officer Kennedy inside the home and spoke with him about my findings. Officer Kennedy spoke with Billy as he sat in my patrol car after reading him Miranda. As Officer Kennedy spoke with Billy, I contacted Investigator Wilson to advise him of the situation. Investigator Wilson responded and advised me to transport Billy to the Carrollton Police Department so he could be interviewed.
After speaking with Officer Kennedy, I transported Billy to the Carrollton Police Department, where he was removed from handcuffs and placed into Interview Room 2. Shortly after, Investigator Wilson arrived and the scene was handed over to him.
After the interview, Officer Kennedy placed Billy into handcuffs that were double-locked and checked for fit before transporting him to the Carroll County Jail. See Officer and Investigator supplemental reports for more information.
