On March 13 2026, Ofc Ruiz and myself responded to 501 Dallas Hwy (Tanner Medical Villa Rica) in reference to an assault that occurred at [200 BLOCK] Augusta Woods Dr.
Once on scene we met with [VICTIM #1] who was located in room E12. As I walked into the room, I noticed several bruises on [VICTIM #1]’s left forearm and she had a bandage over her left elbow.
I then proceeded to ask [VICTIM #1] what had occurred this morning. She said she had taken the kids to school and then went by the store to get a couple things for house and then went back home. When she arrived home her boyfriend, (Christopher Ayers) started accusing her of setting him up on Jan 3rdand got him arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance. She said while they were arguing he had grabbed a square white rod and started trying to hit her in the head with it. She advised as he started swinging the rod she put her left arm up to protect her face and head. HE then continued swinging the rod striking her in the left forearm several times. He then stopped and left the room. She gathered herself up and asked him to take her to the hospital. She was able to finally convince him to take her. Once at the hospital he dropped her off and she went inside to check in. She was then taken back to room E12, where x-rays were completed on her left arm.
I while in the room she stated Ayers still had her vehicle and was able to give the tag number to her vehicle (GA Tag#[REDACTED BY AGENCY]. I checked FLOCK and noticed the last time it hit was around 10:06 am coming into the Emergency Department Entrance. I meet with security and were able to locate the vehicle and later follow Ayers from the parking Lot to the waiting area in the emergency department where he was still located.
As I was leaving the security room and making my way back to the E12 I met up with Sgt. Walton. Sgt. Walton, Ofc Ruiz, and myself made our way to the lobby where Ayers was still sitting. After confirming his identity and attempting to ask him what took place (which he responded with he did not know). I then asked why he had brought his girlfriend up to the hospital and again I got the same response.
I then asked him to stand up and at that time his hands were handcuffed behind his back. He was transported to Carroll County Jail and booked in for aggravated battery.
I then went back to continue speaking with [VICTIM #1]. She was able to tell me where he normally kept the rod in the residence and gave me a key to the residence. Investigations was able to get a search warrant for the residence to secure the item that was used in the attack. I met Detectives on scene along with Crime Scene Tech [REDACTED]. The metal rod was located in the master bedroom above the mirror connected to the dresser, which is where I was informed that it should be located. Once the rod was collected I noticed what appeared to be blood located in multiple spots on the rod. It was then secured and placed into evidence by the evidence tech.
Photos of [VICTIM #1]’s injuries as well as the residence and weapon used in the attack were uploaded into other images.
