On 01/14/2026 at approximately 23:20 hrs, I was dispatched to [200 BLOCK] Bledsoe Street Apt. [REDACTED] (New Carrollwood Apartments) regarding a fight in progress. Upon arrival, at 23:22 hrs, I saw a male standing in the roadway between buildings [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] wearing no shirt and only one shoe, who was later identified as (Demarcus Cofield Jr.).
I got out with Demarcus and asked them if there was a fight and if he was involved. Demarcus stated there were people there, but they had driven off, and he then started yelling at random tenants at other buildings. I then observed gravel on Demarcus’ body as I tried to talk to him; he could not stand up straight, was slurring his words, and could not speak in complete sentences. Demarcus then raised his arms with his fist closed in a bladed stance, stating, “Let me know when y’all are ready.” Demarcus did this in front of multiple officers.
I then spoke with [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated that she and Demarcus had been drinking in her apartment at [REDACTED]. [WITNESS #1] said she got into an argument with Demarcus because he was being too loud, along with another couple who left the scene before the officer’s arrival. [WITNESS #1] noted that she told Demarcus to leave because her kids have school the next day and that she did not witness a physical fight.
I then spoke with the complainant [WITNESS #2], who lives in apartment [REDACTED]. [WITNESS #2] stated he was walking to get his mail when he heard arguing coming from the [REDACTED] building and saw a couple arguing in front of [WITNESS #1]’s apartment. I then asked [WITNESS #2] if he had seen a fight break out involving Demarcus. [WITNESS #2] stated he did not witness a fight, but he did hear Demarcus yelling.
Demarcus was then placed in handcuffs, the handcuffs were double-locked, and he was placed under arrest.
Carrollton Fire evaluated Demarcus before he was transported to the Carroll County Jail.
Demarcus Cofield Jr was arrested for the following:
C66-7(A)(21): Disorderly Conduct- Public Drunk. (Citation #211103011)
