On 05-29-26 at 1648 hours, I responded to 102 Royal Crown Court (The Crown Inn) in reference to a male victim (later identified as: [REDACTED BY AGENCY]) with a single gunshot wound to the leg.
I arrived on scene and observed a large amount of blood on a nearby door from about waist level down. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was laying in the hallway on his back, and I began to administer first aid by removing clothing and searching for any additional unknown wounds while other officers held pressure on the known wound. Once medical personnel arrived on scene, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was moved out of the hallway, treated further, and transported to Grady by ambulance.
We believed the suspect could possibly still be in room [REDACTED]; due to the exigent circumstances, we obtained a master key, entered the room, and cleared it to ensure the suspect was not inside. Once the room was safe, I held the hallway to protect the crime scene. I then began a mobile search to locate the suspect, but I was unsuccessful.
CID and crime scene both responded, and the scene was turned over to them.
