On 10/11/2024 at approximately 1250 hours, I, Deputy M. Rea responded to [2100 BLOCK] Star Point Rd., in reference to an unknown problem.
Upon arrival, I met with [VICTIM #1] who advised she was involved in a physical altercation with her child’s father, Jamonti Dorsey.
[VICTIM #1] advised she and Jamonti were drinking alcohol and were arguing about their relationship. [VICTIM #1] would not say what they were arguing about just that she grabbed Jamonti by the shirt to get his attention and he “snapped”. [VICTIM #1] stated Jamonti slammed her up against the wall in their bed room (by the closet door) and began to choke her. [VICTIM #1] stated she could not breathe. [VICTIM #1] then stated Jamonti ran the bathtub in the master bathroom and held her head under water for approximately one to two minutes demanding [VICTIM #1] tell him where his cellphone was.
[VICTIM #1] advised when she was allowed to come out of the water for air she screamed to Jamonti that his cellphone was in the kitchen on the island.
[VICTIM #1] also advised Jamonti grabbed a knife and threatened to kill her and stated that he was okay with “catching a charge” for killing her.
[VICTIM #1] advised Jamonti took her cellphone (an iPhone 13) and was slamming it on the kitchen island to break the screen. [VICTIM #1] stated she grabbed her sons cellphone and ran to the front porch to call 911 with nothing but shorts on. [VICTIM #1] stated when Jamonti realized she had called 911 he left on foot towards Highway 5 on Star Point Rd. [VICTIM #1] told me that Jamonti took her cellphone when he left the residence.
I observed drywall damage in the master bedroom, the lamp was knocked down, and the faucet in the bathtub was knocked into the tub, the bathtub was still wet. I observed visible signs of abuse all over [VICTIM #1]’s body; most notably around her neck, and arms. I took pictures of the all of the damage, and marks on [VICTIM #1] and attached them under “Other Images” tab of this report.
[VICTIM #1] stated abuse is not an uncommon occurrence in the home. [VICTIM #1] advised she believed she cold fix their relationship.
[VICTIM #1] advised her iPhone was worth $200, and the damage to her home was approximately $350. Jamonti fled the scene prior to my arrival and was believed to be picked up by someone.
[VICTIM #1] received medical treatment by West GA Ambulance but refused to the transported to the hospital. Sgt. Cornell was notified.
A case number was provided.
