On Wednesday, June 30th, 2021 at approximately 1450 hours, I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Wesley Chapel Road in Villa Rica, Georgia in reference to a “signal 911”. A male caller advised he had just been attacked, then disconnected. Dispatch advised they were unable to reach the male on call back.

Upon my arrival at approximately 1500 hours, I met with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] advised he had just been attacked by Daniel Bookout and Daniel’s girlfriend, Melissa Beaudette. [VICTIM #1] stated he woke up to Daniel and Melissa in the driveway, so [VICTIM #1] stood in the doorway of the shed he was sleeping in. [VICTIM #1] stated Daniel attacked him with a “tire tool” and a makeshift Molotov cocktail.

After the attack, [VICTIM #1] advised Daniel and Melissa left. However, [VICTIM #1] stated he didn’t know what they were in or which way they went. [VICTIM #1]’s story began changing and evolving, making it difficult to find out exactly what happened. [VICTIM #1] did state he believes the attack was the result of a verbal altercation between them that occurred last night (06/29/2021).

[WITNESS #1], the property owner, was on scene and advised he witnessed the incident. [WITNESS #1] stated he only witnessed portions of the attack, due to attending to his dogs that were misbehaving during the incident. [WITNESS #1] advised he heard someone pull into his driveway, so he walked outside to see who it was. [WITNESS #1] stated he witnessed Daniel standing next to his vehicle (tan Chevrolet Avalanche bearing Georgia tag number [REDACTED]) arguing with [VICTIM #1] holding what appeared to be a glass bottle, then Daniel ignited said bottle.

[WITNESS #1] advised [VICTIM #1] then rushed Daniel, which caused Daniel to drop the burning bottle on the ground. At that time, [WITNESS #1] witnessed [VICTIM #1] and Daniel in a physical fight on the ground. [WITNESS #1] further stated he observed what appeared to be a pair of brass knuckles on Daniel’s hand. During the fight, [WITNESS #1] stated Melissa appeared from the truck holding a makeshift “club”. [WITNESS #1] described it as a large piece of round wood he suspects was a baseball bat with tape wrapped around it.

[WITNESS #1] advised Melissa then struck [VICTIM #1] while he and Daniel were on the ground. A few moments later, [WITNESS #1] witnessed [VICTIM #1] eventually able to get off the ground and away from Daniel, but Daniel appeared armed with a tire iron. [WITNESS #1] didn’t see what occurred during that time. [WITNESS #1] last witnessed [VICTIM #1] running around Daniel’s vehicle, then Daniel and Melissa get back into the vehicle and drive away with [VICTIM #1]’s bicycle in the bed.

I observed approximately three (3) separate lacerations on [VICTIM #1], one (1) on the top of his head and two (2) on the left side of his neck. There were also several, large scratches on [VICTIM #1]’s back. West Georgia Ambulance responded for treatment, which medical personnel cleaned and bandaged. Medical personnel further advised atleast one (1) of the lacerations would need stitched, but [VICTIM #1] declined transport by ambulance. I transported [VICTIM #1] to Tanner Medical Center Emergency Department in Villa Rica for further treatment at his request.

[VICTIM #1] wished to press charges against Daniel and Melissa. Due to homelessness, his cellphone is “text only” capable. Pictures were taken and are attached to this report as reference. [VICTIM #1] and [WITNESS #1] completed Statement Forms, which are attached to this report as reference. I provided [VICTIM #1] a case card with the corresponding case number and advised him of the process in obtaining a copy of this report. On-call Inv. Jackson was notified of the incident.
