On February 4, 2025, at 0026 hours, I, Ofc. Kirby was conducting an unrelated traffic stop on Adamson Square. During the traffic stop, I heard a loud and heated argument coming from the Irish Bread Pub (210 Adamson Square). I looked over and observed two males in front of the bar and security guards under the bar’s awning yelling at each other.
I advised other officers over the radio of the dispute and told the driver of my unrelated traffic stop that he was free to leave. The two males walked away from the bar and I spoke to the victim, [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] is a security guard and stated the white male who had just left the scene just returned with his friend’s ID and keys and that he found that suspicious. [VICTIM #1] stated the white male threatened to fight him. [VICTIM #1] denied pressing charges.
I was advised by officers that they made contact with the two males behind the closed Alley Cat Bar (120 Newnan Street). I spoke to Michael Whitaker who was being argumentative with me about the incident. I immediately could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Michael’s breath. When asked to provide his name, Michael would say he would not give me his name. Officers explained to Michael why and Michael stated he did not do anything. After I asked Michael if he would give us his information, Michael continued to speak about the incident instead of providing me his name and birthday as a means of stalling the investigation. I told Michael he was under arrest, placed him in double-locking cuffs to the rear, and searched him incident to arrest.
Michael spoke to me voluntarily about the incident and told me about the incident. Michael told me he was trying to take back a female’s keys to the bar when a security guard threatened him for bringing back the keys. Ofc. Taylor arrested Michael’s friend, Koron Glenn for obstruction and Koron was found to be wanted by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
I transported Michael to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
Later I reviewed Avigilon security footage of the incident. During the footage I observed Michael and Koron walking up to the Irish bread pub and handing [VICTIM #1] a set of keys. Michael and [VICTIM #1] begin arguing with each other and people are in between them. Although the video has no audio you can tell this is a heated argument by how Michael is pacing around the Irish Bread Pub while pointing at [VICTIM #1]. This would go on for several minutes until Michael and Koron leave the Irish Bread Pub.
