[NARRATIVE #1 on March 21, 2026]

On March 21, 2026, I responded to [40 BLOCK] S Villa at approximately 19:53. Upon arrival, I made contact with [VICTIM #1], who advised me that Paul Lee Maddox had shot at her several times. [VICTIM #1] advised that the shooter was Paul Lee Maddox. She also advised that after he shot several times he ran back into the woods behind [40 BLOCK] S Villa Rd.

During my investigation, I observed two bullet holes in the rear of a Chevy Trailblazer. The owner of the vehicle, [REDACTED], advised that he heard several gunshots and screaming.

While searching the area, I located a single shell casing in the area where witnesses stated the shooter had fired from.

I then made contact with [WITNESS #1], who advised that Paul Lee Maddox was attempting to shoot [WITNESS #2] due to [WITNESS #2] taking Paul’s firearms during another incident approximately one week prior. This is when [WITNESS #1] advised that before we arrived on scene Maddox ran back into the woods when he pointed his long rifle at him and then to his dog.

Villa Rica and GSP assisted in establishing a perimeter.

Sgt. North notified CID and Major Dodson, who activated SWAT.

[NARRATIVE #2 on March 22, 2026]

On 3/22/2026, and at approximately 09:39 hours, I, Deputy W. Jordan #916, was dispatched to 1003 Pleasant Grove Church Road (Pleasant Grove Baptist Church) in reference to a damage of an exterior door.

Upon arriving on scene I began speaking with the complainant, [REDACTED]. [REDACTED] advised me that he was a deacon at the church and he had noticed an exterior doors glass had been shattered. As I was observing the scene, I noticed that there was a large rock on the floor of the church accompanied by shattered glass. Members for the curch stated that a light bulb near the door had also been shattered, but some members stated that they were not sure that the bulb was tampered with.

Members of the church occupied the bottom of the church and had cleared it before my arrival. I cleared the top of the church due to some areas not being occupied, to which I did not locate anyone. A member of the church did produce video surveillance showing a white male with camo pants and no shirt, breaking into the church at approximately 00:06 hours. The male is suspected to be Paul Maddox, due to the time frame being in conjunction with a shooting call on South Villa Road. The case number for that incident is 202603004904. The male was still inside of the church at approximately 00:39 hours. This is known due to the upstairs light of the church being turned off at this time in the video footage. The male exits the church through the front parking lot at approximately 00:45 hours.

Video footage of the male exiting the church was found later during this investigation. Due to the video delay, deputies on scene evacuated the church and conducted a security sweep of the church, ensuring the male was not located inside. Deputies checked every part of the church including a shed outside, the upstairs, downstairs, and the crawlspace. The male was not located inside of the church.

Members of the church only accounted an outside A/C unit being stolen from behind the building. It was valued at $10,000 and was stolen on 3/17/2026 and at approximately 11:40 hours.

The male left behind a green backpack and miscellaneous items near the back drive of the church.

The door was valued at $400.00.

Investigator K. Finley and Investigator A. Garmon was notified of the incident and responded to the incident location.

Photographs of the scene are attached in the “Linked Files” tab.
