April 29, 2026 I responded to Chevron, 160 E Highway 5, Roopville, due to a complainant, [VICTIM #1], stating he found a vehicle that was stolen and posted on Facebook. The vehicle was a Yukon that was supposedly stolen by Robert Cole. I have prior knowledge of this and had stopped the vehicle in the past couple weeks where I learned that the vehicle was not stolen and this is a civil dispute over the vehicle.

I arrived on scene and spoke with Robert Cole who states that [VICTIM #1] came up to him about the vehicle in an aggressive manner and accused him of stealing the vehicle. He states [VICTIM #1] was running his mouth and making accusations and it became very heated.

I spoke with [VICTIM #1] who states he did confront him about the vehicle. He says he and Cole have a bad history because he has a child with Cole’s niece. He says the argument became heated and Cole threatened him with a knife. He showed me where he was standing in the parking lot and it was right under a camera.

I spoke with witness, [WITNESS #1], who was driving the garbage truck that [VICTIM #1] was riding in and he corroborated that there was an argument and he saw Cole come at [VICTIM #1] with what appeared to be a knife. He says that he couldn’t see it clearly and didn’t really hear the whole argument due to him not leaving the garbage truck.

I went inside and asked to access the camera. I found the incident and while watching both parties are pacing the parking lot and arguing. [VICTIM #1]’s coworker was in a garbage truck and pulls in front of the vehicle where they are arguing. This is when you see Cole advance toward [VICTIM #1] and pull something out of his pocket and hold it like you would a knife and [VICTIM #1] throw his hands up. Cole backs off and the two continue to argue before separating again.

I asked Cole about the knife and he stated he never pulled it out. I advised him that I saw the video and asked about the knife in his pocket, at which time, Cole surrenders the knife.

The knife was taken and placed into evidence. Robert Cole was arrested for Aggravated Assault.
