On 01/31/25 at 09:07, I was approached by Carrollton Middle School Counselor [WITNESS #1]. He stated that a student, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (14 years), approached him this morning and informed him she was scared of her boyfriend, Rony Isac Morales Vasquez (20 years), who was sending threatening text messages.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] was asked to come to an administrator’s office with [WITNESS #1] and Carrollton Middle School employee and translator [WITNESS #2]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she met Rony via Instagram at the end of November 2024. She told me the two had communicated over the last two months and that she had attempted to break up with him numerous times. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated the only intimate activity between the two had been kissing over several encounters at her address. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she was unaware of the legality of the relationship due to their age; however, she told me Rony had once asked her if she lived with other minors.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] then showed me a text thread in Spanish on Instagram between her and Rony [REDACTED], which started last night (01/30/25) at approximately 23:58. [WITNESS #2] translated the texts and informed me that Rony asked to see [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to which she replied, “Give me space,” [WITNESS #2] told me that Rony then stated that he would see [REDACTED BY AGENCY] soon and that he was on his way to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] address, unaware that she was at her Aunt’s house at the time. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] texted Rony, saying, “Stop threatening me,” and told me she feared for her safety. The text thread showed multiple attempts where Rony tried to call.

At 06:46 this morning (01/31/25), [WITNESS #2] stated that Rony texted [REDACTED BY AGENCY] again, saying he was on his way to pick her up from her apartment. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] texted Rony, stating, “No,” and Rony insisted he was on his way, telling her not to say no. After multiple attempts to call [REDACTED BY AGENCY], she stated she finally did answer the phone out of fear of the repercussions if she didn’t. It was during that conversation [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated Rony told her if she did not agree to see him, he would come to her address and rob her. He also made the statement, “I will kill for love.”

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] told me she asked Rony if he intended to kill her, to which he replied, “You know it.” At 07:03, after further attempts to call [REDACTED BY AGENCY], Rony demanded to know where she was. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated he sent a snap-type picture, which she deleted after she saw it of him on a bike on the street she lives on. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated he wore all-black pants, a hoodie, and a ski mask. Rony then texts, “I will see you soon.” It should be noted Rony’s last picture on Instagram from two hours prior fits that description.

Investigator Vaughn #246 was called and spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and her father, [WITNESS #3], who consented to a full investigation and who wished to prosecute.

[WITNESS #2] translated the entire text thread from last night to this morning into English and had been digitally added to this report.

The investigation was turned over to Investigator Vaughn.
