On 12/6/2025 at approximately 0145 hours, I responded to the area of the Adamson Square to locate a black male wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, and a white mask. The male was later identified as Travaughn McDaniel. Officers in the area advised that he had been seen on cameras engaging in a fight outside the Irish Bred Pub.

I arrived in the area of Tanner Street, where I located Cpl. Fowler and Ofc. Lemley on foot on Harris Street, looking for Travaughn. Cpl. Fowler advised that the same clothing description was given and that he possibly ran towards Mill Street or Bradley Street. Cpl. Folwer also advised that Travaughn had kicked and damaged several vehicles.

While searching for Travaughn, Officers advised on the radio that he is usually armed with a gun based on past experiences and interactions. Travaughn was also observed by officers kicking and breaking the passenger side mirrors off of the following vehicles:

  • 2007 Silver Lexus IS250 (GA: [REDACTED])
    [VICTIM #1] (GA: [REDACTED])
  • 2020 Silver Nissan Altima (GA [REDACTED])
    [VICTIM #2] (GA: [REDACTED])

I continued searching the area in my marked patrol car, when I noticed a male matching the description jump a fence from the area of the Ampethetar onto Mill Street. I activated my blue lights and began driving towards Travaughn, who ran away from my patrol vehicle towards the Textile Mill (306 Bradley Street).

Travaughn ran on the sidewalk of the Textile Mill away from me. As I entered the parking lot, Travaughn doubled back and ran out towards Mill Street. I turned around and continued following him. Travuaghn changed directions again and ran back towards the Textile Mill. I entered the parking lot and drove to the southeast corner of the Textile Mill towards the woodline. I observed Travaughn run into the woods directly behind the Textile Mill. I exited my patrol car and began running after Travaughn on foot. I drew my department -issued Glock 35 (SN: AHPZ459), followed Travaughn into the woods, and gave him commands to stop running.

While running through the woods, Travaughn fell multiple times. I holstered my handgun, drew my taser, and continued calling out to Travaughn to stop running. While chasing Travaughn, I lost sight of him in the woods behind the Textile Mill. Ofc. Lemley was with me and located Travaughn again in the woods just in front of us. Travaughn ran up the embankment on the North side of the woodline, back on Mill Street. We chased Travaughn up the hill on Mill Street. Travaughn fell again, and we were able to catch him. Travaughn was still on the ground where he had fallen. I held my taser against Travaughn’s back and told him that if he did not comply, he would be tased. Travaughn stopped obstructing and gave up. I holstered my taser, and we secured Travaughn in handcuffs.

Travaughn complained of difficulty breathing and a cut lip. EMS was dispatched to the scene to assess Travaughn, who was later cleared on scene and transported to the Carroll County Jail by Ofc. Osbourne.

I later observed the video footage from outside the Irish Bred Pub, which showed Travaughn actively attempting to fight with another male on Adamson Square. Travaughn can be seen attempting to tackle the male, who ducked down, causing Travaughn to fall on the ground. Travaughn was seen on cameras trying to fight with several individuals.

Due to Travaughn fighting on the square while intoxicated, damaging vehicles, and running from officers, I charged him with the following:

  • OCGA 16-7-23: Criminal Damage to Property 2nd
  • OCGA 16-11-39: Disorderly Conduct
  • OCGA 16-11-49: Public Drunkenness
  • OCGA 16-10-24: Obstruction

Travaughn also had several outstanding warrants out of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and the Carrollton Police Department.

It should be noted that my body camera recorded video but did not record audio during the incident.

[VICTIM #2] wished to prosecute for the damage to her vehicle. We were unable to contact [VICTIM #1] at the time.

Warrants have been typed and are pending a judge’s signature.
