[NARRATIVE #3 on September 11, 2022]
On September 11th 2022, Lt Lands responded to 496 Liberty Church Road, in the Lowell Community, to back up Deputy B. Cole #940 on a physical domestic dispute where two subjects had been stabbed.
At approx 2112 hours, Lands arrived at 496 Liberty Church Road to find two residences sharing the same driveway. A beige colored house with red trim was to the right of the driveway going in, later found to be 496 Liberty Church Road, and there was a tan or light colored mobile home at the end of the driveway, later found to be [500 BLOCK] Liberty Church Road.
(Note: Dispatch had advised while Deputies were responding that a female subject had called 911 claiming also to have been stabbed)
At the mobile home, Lands noticed two w/m subjects standing outside near the porch where one of them was summoning Lands with a flashlight requesting help for his brother who he said that his girlfriend had stabbed him with a pair of scissors. He identified his brother to be [VICTIM #1]. Lands asked who had stabbed Mr. [VICTIM #1] and they both said Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s girlfriend Elizabeth Bowden. When asked where Ms. Bowden was at the time, they pointed towards the beige colored house.
Mr. [VICTIM #1] did not have a shirt on and had what appeared to be blood stains about his front upper body area and his left upper arm and shoulder were wrapped in some towels which were blood stained. In order to provide information for dispatch to relay to the responding EMT’s, Lands asked Mr. [VICTIM #1] to let him see his stab wound. Mr. [VICTIM #1] removed the towels to reveal about a one to one and a quarter inch long puncture wound to the left upper arm near the shoulder. The wound was gashed open with inner tissue hanging out of it.
Lands advised dispatch to have the EMT’s to respond to his location to provide medical attention to Mr. [VICTIM #1] who would remain standing in front of the patrol vehicle while Lands attempted to locate the other subject Involved, Ms. Bowden.
Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s brother (original complainant) [WITNESS #1] ([REDACTED]) [500 BLOCK] Liberty Church Road Carrollton, GA 30116) advised Lands that Ms. Bowden had a lot of psychological problems and she was crazy. He advised Lands to not be surprised at Ms. Bowden probably having bruises and marks from hitting herself, because she was known to harm herself and claim that someone else done it.
Around 2117 hours, Deputies B. Cole #940 and E. Patterson #934 arrived to assist. Around 2119 hours, emergency personnel arrived: WGA ambulance unit #46 (EMT’s [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]). Fire/rescue battallion #1 [REDACTED], engine #12 ([REDACTED] & [REDACTED]) engine #4 ([REDACTED] & [REDACTED]).
As Deputies Cole and Patterson arrived in the driveway, Lands motioned for them to approach the house with him to try and make contact with Ms. Bowden. When Lands was near the red in color side entrance door to the residence (496 Liberty Church Road) the door opened up and he observed a blonde haired w/f laying in the floor on her back with her left side and head partially in the door way. And her lower body still inside facing towards what appeared to be the living room. Her lower left arm and hands were covered with blood. She was wearing a small light colored shirt and blue jean shorts. She appeared to be struggling with trying to stay conscious, as she kept moving her head and upper torso back and forth a lot, but staying in the same spot.
When Lands was close enough to see that the w/f, later found to be Ms. Bowden, did not have a weapon in her hands or near her, she was approached and asked where all was she hurt at. Lands noticed that she was holding her left lower arm area with her right hand. There was a small pool of blood on the carpet beneath her lower left arm. Her left lower arm and both hands were covered in wet blood. Ms. Bowden had a very noticeable large bruise to the upper left leg.
Ms. Bowden released her right hand out from around her left arm to reveal a small puncture wound that started bleeding profusely till she clamped down around it again with her right hand. Lands asked Ms. Bowden had she been stabbed anywhere else or was she hurt anywhere else. Lands noticed that Ms. Bowden’s throat/neck area was heavily blood stained as she seemed to be struggling to speak.
She claimed to be stabbed in the stomach, but when the EMT’s checked her stomach and sides, the only noticable injury was what appeared to be a long from side to side scratch mark across her lower chest upper stomach area. Lands asked Ms. Bowden who had hurt her and she said what sounded like the name “[VICTIM #1].” Note: Ms. Bowden carried on as if she could hardly talk.
As Lands was speaking with Ms. Bowden, he observed a kitchen knife laying on the floor in front of the couch not far from where Ms. Bowden was located. Also on the floor by the knife was a small pile of what appeared to be vomit. Lands also seen a trail of blood droplets from near the door across the living room floor, then across the kitchen floor towards an end bed room that the lights were on inside it. At this time Lands advised Deputy Patterson to start photographing Ms. Bowden’s injuries and the immediate area.
Dep. Cole was advised to collect written statements from Mr. [VICTIM #1] and his brother. Dep. Patterson was advised to clear the residence while Lands spoke with Ms. Bowden and as the EMT’s provided her with medical attention. Dep. Patterson advised that there was no other victims or anyone else inside the residence. Lands asked Dep. Patterson had he seen any scissors in the bedroom where the trail of blood droplets could be seen, and Patterson replied, “yes, there is a pair of scissors on the bed.”
As the EMT’s were standing Ms. Bowden up onto her feet, Lands asked her why was she having a hard time talking, and she pointed towards her blood stained throat and said what sounded like, “because he choked me.”
*Note: As soon as Ms. Bowden was being carried from the residence to the ambulance, Lands cleared everyone from the residence to avoid contaminating the scene any further. Note: Dep. Patterson and [REDACTED] (bat #1) were the only ones allowed to go past where Ms. Bowden was located. Lands spoke with Inv. D. Harmon #999 via cellphone to advise him on what had been discovered thus far.
After confirming that the on call Investigator was enroute, Lands retrieved his crime scene tape and then secured the scene. Dep. Patterson was advised to try and speak with Ms. Bowden further before she was transported in hopes of trying to figure out what had happened between her and Mr. [VICTIM #1]. Lands kept the scene secure while waiting on C.I.D. Personell to arrive. Dep. Patterson was advised to respond to the E.R. and stand by with Ms. Bowden until an Investigator responded to meet with them.
Inv. Harmon and Sgt. S. Stollar #9024 arrived on the scene at around 2158 hours. A search warrant was secured for 496 Liberty Church Road at 2326 hours by Inv. S. North #9035. At 2329 hours, Inv D. Harmon and Sgt. S. Stollar entered the crime scene to process it. C.I.D. released the scene at approx 2336 hours.
