On 2/2/26, I responded to [400 BLOCK] Springer Road in reference to a psychiatric.

Deputy Leverette 987 arrived on scene and advised that the complainant was running thorough the woods towards the road. I arrived on scene and observed a male in a red shirt walking south on Springer road while on his phone. Deputy Leverette confirmed it to be the complainant.

I exited my patrol car and attempted to make contact with the male, as I was approaching, he began to whisper to himself and walk back towards a camper and told me that people were after him and at one was still in the camper. The male identified himself as Zachery Newton and stated that he lived in the camper and wanted me to check it and make sure no one else was in it. I cleared the camper and confirmed that on one else was inside. Zachary repeatedly stated that someone was in the camper after I had cleared it while also whispering to himself.

I asked Zachery what he had going on and he advised that there was a gang that had been chasing him and he cant get away from them. I asked Zachery if he had used any drugs and he stated that he was back to using meth and his last time using was on friday. Zachery stated that he was not hurt and did not want to talk to EMS or a mental health counsler. I advised Zachery that no one was inside his camper and no one was chasing him. He began to settle down advised he did not need us anymore so I went back in service.

While I was assisting DFACS with a separate call, Zachery called 911 again and stated that the gang members were currently shooting at him and trying to get him, he then hung up. Zachery called back again advising dispatch the same thing but would not follow her directions. Zachery called 911 a total of 9 times and would repeatedly hang up and call back immediately.

I arrived back on scene at [400 BLOCK] Springer Road and attempted to locate Zachery at the camper where he told dispatch he would wait. Dispatch advised that Zachery was back on the line and stated that he was across the road.

I relocated to [400 BLOCK] Springer road at an abandoned house and noticed Zachery standing on the porch while knocking on the door and yelling. I made contact with Zachery and placed him in double locked handcuffs and put in the back of my patrol car until I could secure the scene and find out whats going on. Zachery stated that a [REDACTED] subject that he knows lives there and told him that he could go in and lock the door behind him.

I attempted to make contact with the [REDACTED] subject but after speaking with Zachery’s aunt, [REDACTED], it was concluded that the house Zachery was attempting to get into had been vacant and no gunshots were heard in the area. I advised Zachery that he was being charged with False report of a crime and Unlawful conduct during a 911 call and transported him to the jail.
