On 09/27/2026 at approximately 0413 hours I was performing roving patrol in my marked patrol vehicle on Eastbound Battlefield Parkway near it’s intersection with Fant Drive. While patrolling, I observed the listed vehicle ahead of me, traveling in the Westbound lanes of Battlefield Parkway. The vehicle appeared to be traveling above the posted speed limit of 45MPH. I activated my in-car radar and measured the listed vehicle’s speed as 61MPH. For this violation I caught up to the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop with it by activating my patrol vehicle’s emergency blue lights and siren. Our final stopping point became the parking lot of Food City.

Upon approaching the passenger side of the vehicle, I met with the driver, Alyscha Fields. I introduced myself to Ms. Fields and advised her of the reason for the stop. I requested a driver’s license and proof of insurance from Ms. Fields. In conversation with Ms. Fields, I noted that she was speaking very loudly and was repeating herself incessantly. When I approached the window, I noted a very strong smell of perfume, as if Ms. Fields had sprayed perfume in the seconds before I made contact with her. While she was searching for the documents I requested, I asked Ms. Fields where she was coming from and she stated “…I work at TVA, here’s my badge…” and showed me a lanyard hanging from her mirror.

She continued to repeat herself, stating she worked at TVA and “…I’m not from here, I’m from North Carolina…”. Ms. Fields provided me her driver’s license and showed me proof of insurance for the vehicle. I returned to my patrol car to run Ms. Fields information through NCIC/GCIC. At this point I observed that the listed vehicle’s registration had expired in April of 2025. Additionally, she had a Georgia temporary license plate in her vehicle’s rear windshield. I ran both registration numbers through NCIC/GCIC. The returns stated that the Tennessee registration was expired and not registered to Ms. Fields, and the Georgia registration was canceled and not registered to Ms. Fields.

I returned to Ms. Fields and asked her about the confusing registration situation. Ms. Fields advised me that she had been living in Georgia for a little over a year, and that she had neglected to register her vehicle in Georgia due to the cost. I returned to my patrol vehicle to write Ms. Fields citations. Upon returning to her vehicle, I approached the driver side. At this point I noted that the odor of perfume had faded.

I observed that Ms. Fields’ eyes were glossy and bloodshot. As I spoke to her, explaining her citations, I noted that Ms. Fields’ speech was slurred. She continued to repeat the same statements about her work at TVA and that she was from North Carolina, despite not being asked questions about these topics. As I attempted to explain the speeding citation to Ms. Fields, she repeatedly interrupted me, speaking loudly and becoming agitated.

Due to the less safe act I had observed, Ms. Fields behavior, and the clues I had observed I requested her from the vehicle. Once outside the vehicle, I noted that Ms. Fields was very unsteady on her feet and was swaying back and forward. I asked Ms. Fields if she had traveled from TVA, where she works. She stated that she was on her way home and that she had left her friends house, and that they were “hanging out”.

I asked Ms. Fields if she had consumed any alcoholic beverages this date and she stated that she had, and that she had “…a couple of beers…” approximately three hours prior to the stop. I asked Ms. Fields what time she believed it was, and she stated “…about twelve (AM) or so…”, despite this question being asked at 0441 hours. I asked Ms. Fields to participate in a battery of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST), which she agreed to.

I first asked Ms. Fields if she wore contacts or glasses, or if she had any head injuries. She stated no to both questions. I then provided the instructions to the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) portion of the testing and asked if she understood, to which she said yes. During the testing, I observed a lack of smooth pursuit in both eyes, distinct and sustained nystagmus at maximum deviation in both eyes, and the onset of nystagmus prior to forty-five degrees in both eyes. Additionally, I observed a slight vertical nystagmus in both eyes.

During the test, Ms. Fields swayed back and forward and had to be reminded not to move her head, despite already being instructed not to. Ms. Fields laughed and interrupted me multiple times during the test and had to be asked to remain quiet.

(Total clues: 6 out of 6 + vertical nystagmus)

I asked Ms. Fields if she had any back, leg, or other injuries which may prevent her from walking or balancing, to which she stated no. I next provided the instructions to the Nine Step Walk-and-Turn test to Ms. Fields and asked if she understood, to which she said yes. Ms. Fields failed to maintain the starting position several times and started the test before being instructed to do so. Ms. Fields had to be reminded to re-assume the starting position multiple times.

During the first set of steps, Ms. Fields stepped off line multiple times, missed several heel-to-toe connections, and raised her arms above six inches. Ms. Fields took eleven (11) steps instead of nine (9) as instructed. Ms. Fields then made an improper turn by neglecting to leave her lead food planted. During the second set of steps, Ms. Fields stopped walking, stepped off line multiple times, missed all heel-to-toe connections, and raised her arms above six inches. Ms. Fields took thirteen (13) steps instead of nine (9) as instructed.

(Total clues: 8 out of 8)

I next provided the instructions for the One Leg Stand test to Ms. Fields and asked if she understood, to which she said yes. Upon instructing her to begin the test, Ms. Fields appeared confused and asked me to explain the instructions a second time, which I did. During the test, Ms. Fields set her foot down six (6) times, raised her arms above six inches for the entire duration of the test, and swayed back and forward and side to side for most of the test. Ms. Fields did not look down at her raised foot or keep her leg straight despite being instructed to do so. Ms. Fields had to be reminded to pick her foot back up multiple times. Ms. Fields counted to eleven (11) during the thirty (30) second test.

(Total clues: 3 out of 4)

Lastly, I attempted to utilized a preliminary breath test (PBT) device on Ms. Fields, however I was unsuccessful. Despite being provided instructions multiple times, Ms. Fields refused to blow into the PBT, and an accurate result could not be obtained. It should be noted that during testing, the odor of perfume completely dissipated, which revealed an odor of alcoholic beverage on Ms. Fields breath and person. At this point Ms. Fields was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.

She was placed in handcuffs behind her back, which were checked for proper fit and double locked. A search of her person incident to arrest for weapons and contraband was conducted, with none found. She was placed in the rear passenger compartment of my patrol vehicle and secured with a seat belt. Ms. Fields was read the Georgia Implied Consent Notice for Subjects Over the Age of 21 and asked for blood, which she agreed to.

Ms. Fields did not have a preferred tow service, therefore the next-list was utilized. Guy Yates responded and took custody of the vehicle without issue. An inventory and tow sheet were conducted according to department policy, with copies supplied to the wrecker driver and Ms. Fields. During the inventory search, an open alcoholic beverage container was located in a black plastic bag which was in the front passenger seat area.

The beer (Michelob Ultra) was approximately three-fourths of the way full and cold to the touch. Due to this discovery, a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. No further contraband was found, however, a large case of Michelob Ultra beer with several bottles missing was located in the vehicle’s trunk.

Ms. Fields was transported to Catoosa detention and booked on her charges without issue:

  • One count of O.C.G.A. 40-6-181: Speeding,
  • One count of O.C.G.A. 40-6-15: Driving with a canceled vehicle registration,
  • One count of O.C.G.A. 40-6-391(A)(1): Driving under the influence of alcohol, less safe, and
  • One count of O.C.G.A. 40-6-253: Possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in passenger compartment

Ms. Fields was provided copies of her citations and advised of her mandatory court date. Puckett 226 arrived on scene at the jail and conducted the implied consent blood test The blood kit has been submitted to evidence locker #010 alongside property receipt #14071. Ms. Field’s driver’s license was seized, as required by O.C.G.A 40-5-67. It has been attached to the court copy of her DUI citation. A DDS 1205S form will be filled out when blood results are returned by the GBI.

The rear passenger compartment of my patrol vehicle was searched for weapons and contraband prior to and following transport, with none found.
