[NARRATIVE #1 on May 26, 2025]
On May 26, 2025, Deputy Henry responded to a call at [90 BLOCK] Harden Drive, Ringgold, Georgia, regarding an incident of animal cruelty that occurred at [200 BLOCK] South Masengale Road, Ringgold, Georgia.
Upon arrival, Deputy Henry met with the complainant, who works in home health care. She explained that when she visited her client’s residence at 9:00 AM, the dog jumped on her and licked her. While inside the house, the complainant recorded a video of the offender holding the dog on the ground, picking it up, and then slamming it back down. The complainant showed Deputy Henry the video, which depicted the offender pushing the dog to the ground while holding its harness. The offender then lifted the dog by the harness, holding its mouth shut with his right hand. When the dog attempted to jump up, the offender pushed it back down. The dog eventually sat between the offender’s legs and tried to pull away, but the offender picked it up again and slammed it onto the concrete. At one point, the offender straddled the dog while it was on the ground, pushing its head into the concrete. Even as the dog tried to escape, the offender continued to hold onto its harness. The complainant stated that her job told her, that she needed to delete the video of the incident.
Deputy Henry then proceeded to [200 BLOCK] South Masengale Road to make contact with the offender and hear his side of the story. The offender claimed that he was trying to get the dog to sit down and stated that the complainant had arrived while the dog was jumping on her. When asked if the dog was aggressive, he replied that it was not.
Deputy Henry also spoke to the dog’s owner, who has dementia. The owner asserted that the offender did not harm the dog.
Upon arriving at the offender’s residence, Deputy Henry found the dog outside in a fenced area. The dog appeared friendly and showed no signs of aggression toward a stranger.
Deputy Henry will be requesting a warrant for the offender, as the events occurred at approximately 9:00 AM on May 26, 2025.
Deputy Henry was unable to obtain the video of the incident to upload to the case, but he was able to video the incident with his BWC.
