[NARRATIVE #1 on May 21, 2025]
Detective Jordan was contacted by Animal Control Officer Stephenson in reference to a dog located on Friday May 16, 2025. Officer Trusley had responded to the area of Brock Circle after receiving a phone call from a citizen stating there was a black dog on their property that looked like it was about to die.
On Friday May 16, 2025, Officer Trusley made contact with the dog. The dog was emaciated with bones protruding from all areas of the body. Officer Trusley described the dog as having no life left in it and was looking for a place to lay down and die. Officer Trusley took the dog in to the care of animal control, a short time later the listed offender showed up at animal control about the dog. The offender stated the dog was a Cane Corso, was approximately 12 years of age and had been on the offenders possession since it was a puppy. The offender signed over all rights to the dog to animal control this date.
It will be noted the average wight for the this breed of dog is between 110 and 120 pounds, the dog came in weighing approximately 38 pounds.
Animal control took it upon themselves to have the dog sent to a vet for examination due to the state of decline the dog was in. Animal control was given a report from the vet stating the dog had no underlying medical issues that would cause it to be so severely malnourished and emaciated. The vet stated the health of the animal was a direct result of neglect and being malnourished.
Detective Jordan will be seeking warrants for prosecution.
