On November 26th 2024 at approximately 0646 hours, I got out with the victim in the parking lot of Circle K at 6855 Battlefield Pkwy in reference to a crash. Shortly before my arrival, the offender had left the scene in his vehicle. As I was talking to the victim, I saw the offender on the roadway. He had driven back past the lot we were in and gotten onto Battlefield Pkwy. I told the victim to wait where he was and I caught up to the offender. He was turning onto I 75 northbound. I used my emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop.

When the offender stopped, I had him step out of the vehicle. I informed him that he was under arrest for hit and run. I handcuffed him. I then asked about his license and he said that he did not have one. He had an ID card from Honduras and a passport. I searched the offender and placed him into my vehicle.

The offender’s boss showed up and the two agreed that the boss could move the vehicle back to Springhill Suites where they were staying.

I went back to Circle K to speak with the victim. He said that he had been parked at a gas pump and walking in. He heard a crunch and looked back. He saw the bumper of the offender’s vehicle pushed into his bumper. He said that the offender did not give any information before leaving, but the victim had taken a picture of the offender’s tag.

I transported the offender to Catoosa Detention Center where he was turned over to detention staff without issue.
