On 03/31/2026 at approximately 1343 hours, while in full police uniform with badge displayed and driving a marked patrol vehicle, Dispatch sent me to [2300 BLOCK] Vicksburg St. for a DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE that just occurred.
According to Dispatch, the Reporting Party advised that her daughter hit her and busted her head open less than ten minutes from the time of the 911 call. The Reporting Party also said her head was bleeding and her daughter, a black 27-year-old female wearing a dark-green oversized hoodie and possibly black pants, left the location.
NOTE: I had previously responded to this residence on 02/26/2026 for a similar altercation (Ref CRN 260226098 and CRN 260227003).
Initial Contact
When I arrived at the scene, I contacted Ms. [VICTIM #1], who was bleeding from the head, and her shirt and her hands were covered with blood. She informed me that her daughter, Ms. ALEXANDRIA N. SMITH, had attacked her and left the residence heading east on Vicksburg Dr. After confirming her clothing description, I canvassed around the house on foot while Ofc Gordon and Cpl Geisler canvassed in their vehicles. They located her a few blocks away within minutes.
Preliminary Investigation
I returned to Ms. [VICTIM #1], who stated that the physical altercation began while she was lying on her bed talking on the phone with Mr. [REDACTED]. After her daughter returned from outside with some food, Ms. [VICTIM #1] asked if Ms. SMITH had brought any food for her. This led to a verbal altercation during which Ms. SMITH took Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s cell phone.
Once Ms. [VICTIM #1] recovered her cell phone, she went back to laying on her bed. Ms. SMITH entered Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s bedroom then grabbed a metal lamp and struck Ms. [VICTIM #1] in the head. Ms. [VICTIM #1] got off the bed and a physical altercation began. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that her daughter knocked all the dishes off the kitchen counter and knocked multiple picture frames off the wall. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that she hit her daughter with a vase during the physical altercation.
I photographed Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s injuries. I observed a blood trail from the driveway to the front door of the house and blood smeared on the window next to the door. Inside the house, I observed multiple broken objects, glass shards, and additional blood on the floor. I took photos of the inside from the doorway without entering the residence. The photos were uploaded to Axon. EMS responded and transported Ms. [VICTIM #1] to Memorial Hospital; they informed me that she had multiple cuts to the top of her head.
Sgt Foraker and Det Purdee responded to the scene.
Disorderly Conduct
After Det Purdee’s investigation, he determined there was probable cause to arrest Ms. SMITH. Cpl Geisler transported her to Memorial Hospital for medical clearance in his vehicle. While at the hospital with Ms. SMITH, she repeatedly asked me what her charges were after I informed her multiple times and explained each charge. She then began screaming and acting erratically, so hospital staff isolated her in the decontamination room.
Ms. SMITH continued to yell and demand to hear her charges again, then she started becoming belligerent. Due to her behavior she needed to be placed back into my patrol vehicle until the doctor was ready to see her.
Once the doctor came outside to speak with her, Ms. SMITH calmed down. The doctor advised that she needed to go back inside for an exam. After re-entering the hospital, she saw her mother waiting for an exam. Once again, she began yelling and screaming. I attempted to separate Ms. SMITH from her mother, but she resisted by pulling away from me to get to her mother. She would not calm herself and needed to be removed from the hospital a second time. While Ms. SMITH was in the back of my patrol vehicle, she kept screaming to “watch the surveillance video” at her house because that would prove her mother attacked her.
As a result of this behavior and disturbing the patients in the hospital emergency room, she was charged with Disorderly Conduct. I requested another officer to the hospital to assist with controlling Ms. SMITH; Ofc Boehm responded.
Conclusion
After her medical exams were completed, she was returned to the rear of my police vehicle. She then broke down crying and stated that she had recently lost a baby with boyfriend and asked for advice on how to recover. I transferred her into the custody of Cpl Ely and Ofc Feliciano to transport her to the Chatham County Detention Center.
This currently concludes my involvement in this incident.
