On January 24, 2026, at 1504hrs I (Officer Long) and my FTO (CPL Howard) were dispatched to 1040 King George Blvd (Food Lion) in reference to a domestic dispute.
On arrival I met with the victim [VICTIM #1] who stated he just got physically assaulted by his wife (Alexis Murrell). He stated that they were talking about divorce, and she started getting aggressive raising her voice. According to [VICTIM #1]’s testimony and the video recordings he took at the time, Alexis then became physical pinning [VICTIM #1] down to the bed while he was face down, and gripping around his neck. He had red marks around his neck area. He advised that he did not lose consciousness and I did not observe petechiae in his eyes. Superficial wounds were left on his chest and right forearm.
[VICTIM #1] informed us that the older child [JUVENILE #1] left the room when the arguing first started, but the youngest child [JUVENILE #2] was still in the room during the physical altercation. [VICTIM #1] stated he did not want to return to the house while Alexis was still in it even if we were there.
I then went to their residence ([100 BLOCK] Sugar Mill Cir) where [VICTIM #1] stated Alexis should be. On arrival after knocking on the door several times, Alexis answered the door, and was asked if she got into an argument with [VICTIM #1]. She stated it was verbal, and then she made contact with him thinking he was playing with her since he was laughing while recording.
I then asked her to step out onto the porch and close the door behind her to keep [JUVENILE #1] from seeing the rest of the conversation. Once Alexis shut the door I informed her that she was under arrest for aggravated assault, and cruelty to children. She complied to commands and was escorted to my patrol vehicle where she was searched by CPL Howard. The only personal articles confiscated was Alexis’s phone, and she was placed in the back of the vehicle. At this time Alexis requested to make contact witha neighbor [REDACTED] to watch [JUVENILE #1]. Contact was made with [REDACTED] who agreed to watch [JUVENILE #1] until [VICTIM #1] could come and retrieve the juvenile. Once [REDACTED] had custody of him we then escorted Alexis to Memorial Hospital.
At Memorial Hospital Alexis was medically cleared. Alexis was then transported to 295 Police Memorial Dr to be escorted by Officer Stephenson to CCDC for processing.
Photos of [VICTIM #1]’s injuries were uploaded to AXON capture. Videos of the altercation were also uploaded to AXON capture.
[End of Narrative]
