On 03/07/2026, I Corporal Johnson responded to a physical disturbance at the CAT bus station located near Skidaway Road and LaRoche Avenue.
Upon arrival, I made contact with the CAT bus driver, Ms. [VICTIM #1], who advised that the suspect, Ms. Anaya Belin, boarded the bus yelling and upset because the bus was late. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that Ms. Belin was yelling statements that included don’t play with me and said she had children she needed to get home to.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] advised that she instructed Ms. Belin to exit the bus due to her behavior. Ms. Belin then began swinging at her. The altercation was briefly broken up, but Ms. Belin attempted to swing at Ms. [VICTIM #1] again. Ms. [VICTIM #1] further stated that during this incident, Ms. [VICTIM #1] indicated that Ms. Belin also tried to pull her hair. Ms. [VICTIM #1] denied EMS on scene. During this incident, Ms. Belin attempted to continue to strike Ms. [VICTIM #1] even with Mr. [WITNESS #1] attempting to intervene as a bystander. Ms. [VICTIM #1] advised on scene that she did exit the bus and Ms. Belin still wanted to swing and her hair was pulled. Ms. [VICTIM #1] advised that she defended herself.
I also made contact with Ms. Anaya Belin, who advised that the bus driver had previously drove. Ms. Belin stated that she said something about it when she boarded the bus and the driver told her to “sit my a*s down” before she would be removed from the bus. Ms. Belin stated that the bus driver exited the bus and then threw her to the ground, removed her wig, and punched her. Ms. Belin advised that Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that “oh no I’m gonna whip your a*s now.” Ms. Belin advised that both Mr. [WITNESS #1] and Ms. [VICTIM #1] were beating her up on the sidewalk and punched her. Ms. Belin did not want EMS on scene.
I then spoke with witness Mr. [WITNESS #1], who advised that Ms. Belin boarded the bus being belligerent and calling the bus driver a “b*tch.” Mr. [WITNESS #1] stated that the driver asked Ms. Belin to exit the bus, but Ms. Belin refused. During my interview with Mr. [WITNESS #1], I determined that Ms. Belin assaulted and slapped the bus driver and swung at her. Mr. [WITNESS #1] advised that he attempted to intervene and separate the two individuals during the altercation. Mr. [WITNESS #1] advised the Ms. Belin attempted to hit him as well.
Mr. [WITNESS #1] also stated that the bus driver attempted to remove Ms. Belin from the bus, and during the process Ms. Belin swung on Ms. [VICTIM #1] and Ms. [VICTIM #1] then threw her to the ground. Mr. [WITNESS #1] advised Ms. [VICTIM #1] was protecting herself.
Ms. Belin was placed under arrest for Simple Battery and Disorderly Conduct. Ms. Belin was secured in double-locked handcuffs, checked for proper fit, and searched incident to arrest. She was then transported to MMC for medical clearance and ultimately CCDC without incident.
